A great place if you're looking for a chilled place in BK, close to public transport links and the main shopping mall. If it's your first time in BK and you're looking for a party, maybe not the place for you but if you're just looking for a relaxed stay, this is the place for you. Nice cool rooms and very clean too.

A free beer and coffee on arrival and that cheap a dorm room?! Incredible! Friendly staff and organised tours to all great wall areas and other beijing attractions for a not too unreasonable price. The prices in the restaurant aren't too bad either. Clean, spacious rooms and good wifi.

The staff here are super friendly and very helpful with organising your china trip and sights in Xi'an. Going through a bit of a remodel when I was there so showering had to be done upstairs in another room but good to see them developing their already good hostel. Connected to a bar restaurant and a free beer on arrival was well received! Located near near the west gate so a tad out the way but still easily accessible to all the inner city sights by walking.

Junky a quick overnighter here for me but I was impressed with what I saw. Friendly and helpful staff and nice dorms too. They organise plenty of trips for things like panda viewing ie the main attraction in Chengdu in my opinion. A nice common area, good wifi throughout.

A great hostel to be yourself at before your climb up mt emei. Free luggage storage and free walking stick and 'crampon' rental if needed. Really friendly helpful staff who were great with helping plan my mountain trip and best way of moving up to Xi'an. A good food selection too and not too unreasonable a price in a pleasant common room/restaurant area. Very clean spacious dorms with lockers provided. Good wifi too.

I don't think I could have asked for friendlier more helpful staff. The girls were fantastic and helped me with all I asked about when planning my route up to leshan and mt emei. Also, after arriving early and having to spent the first couple of hours sleeping on a couch, i woke to find someone had put a duvet over me. Amazing! A really clean hostel too with good wifi. An easy walk to the dock but a bit of a climb up to the main city centre is the only thing that let this place down a bit

A really nice looking hostel, both in terms of bedrooms, showers and lobby area. Really clean. Staff could have been a bit more helpful in terms of tring to help sort out river trips but were all pleasant enough. Good wifi. Good location when you get to it. Yichang is only really a place to spend a night either side of your river trip so try not to be there too long

A party hostel if there ever was one in china. A great bar and always people to meet, party and play beer pong with. Rooms and showers are as average as most but the atmosphere here is a lot of fun and definitely worth staying at. Great location on the main drag too. Wifi, average and no Facebook as advertised. Staff are helpful and knowledgable.

The infamous monkey janes didn't fail to disappoint in terms of atmosohere with plenty of people to talk to in the lobby or the party of the rooftop bar and it's stunning views. Sure I've sen cleaner hostels but nothing too ad by ny means. The water is hotter in the second building and the huge film selection was much appreciated too. Not the greatest internets though and no FB as advertised. Very helpful, fun, knowledgable staff though. Definitely worth a visit.

One of many hostels in Chunking Mansions which is well known to be not the flashiest place. Great location though, in the heart of Kowloon not too far a walk to mongkok & right next to the subway for easy connections to HK Island and everywhere else. A clean hostel but it consists only of a desk, a corridor & the rooms, no communal areas/chairs/anything like that so not somewhere to meet people. Friendly helpful staff though. Good strong wifi. A tad expensive. Cheaper (but worse) hostels on F/16

A really nice, laid back hostel in a great location within easy walking distance of all the many old city attractions. Really helpful staff too (although sometimes a bit too laid back) but helped me organise my cooking course and elephant training/trekking. Couldn't have wanted more from either! Great recommendations! Really clean too and good sized lockers for all. The in built restaurant provides really cheap and tasty food too. The wifi is very sporadic though.

So a really well located hostel, right in th heart of the city and not too far from either beach but importantly the sunrise beach for the FMP. Free pool, inexpensive drinks but average meals. Our dorm wasn't cleaned throughout the 4nights I was there but maybe that's just the way during a FM. Youre rarely in your room/in much of a state to care anyway. The dorm was right by their cheap bottle-o too which was very handy indeed! Good, reliable wifi in rooms.

The Overstay

Probably not the place to stay if you're new to the travelling scene. The spray painted decor might not be to everyone's taste but does create an artsie/squat type feel to it, in a good way. A good bar othe ground floor creating a good atmosphere and staff that can help you out. Quite a distance from the main parts of BK though and it's either a long trek/taxi/bus into the city every day and back. But for 100B, you really can't complain!

Really helpful friendly staff and they all seem to work hard to make sure this hostel runs well. Great location in Fortitude Valley, the party district, and not too far from public transport or shops. Well known party environment and great bar with great deals and events to get involved in. An absolutely amazing hostel with possibly one of the best vibes I've ever come across. The staff here are amazingly friendly, always willing to talk to you, offer you trip advice, play volleyball/table tennis/chess with you and drink kava with you every night, which again is a great way of getting involved with new people and Fijian customs. A stones throw to the beach and a tad further to the shop. Great food offered too and for a great price, as are there unique tour opportunities! Stay here!

A well established party hostel of Queenstown and you're guaranteed to find more than enough people to have a party although as most come in on tours, it might be harder for single travellers to break into these well established groups. There are a lot of staff here though that are miserable as sin and I did not appreciate a lot of their attitudes nor been shouted at like I was a 10year old for an incident I knew nothing about. A good free meal each night though, and a stones throw to everything

Good Morning Jonathan, Thanks so much for the positive feedback. You are right in regards to Internet, unfortunatley little old New Zealand still isn't able to provide free internet to our valued backpackers. This is where McDonalds and Cafe's come in handy as you are able to login to their Internet accounts. We are so happy that enjoyed your stay here with us, if you do come back to Auckland please come back and visit. we love that you felt at home while you were here and that our staff were helpful. Good Luck with the rest of your travels. Kind Regards, The Fat Camel Crew

WoW! So this is definitely the wildest of the 3 and definitely worth a look in for anyone who wants to have a bit of a party (you'd be a fool to stay here if you're just looking for a quiet night). As the others, this has got everything that a traveller could want at a hostel: great food, a great bar, great security, charging lockers, friendly, helpful staff, and every night a great party! Free drinks and t shirts for multiple stays at the different WRs too and who can argue against that!

A fantastic addition to the Wild Rover Threesome and although it probably is more the 'Mild Rover', after a hot day in the sun, more of a chilled vibe isn't always the worst thing but there is still plenty of opportunity for aparty if you're keen! As ever, a hostel designed by a traveller for a traveller and you'll find everything you want here. Well, except for a clean pool. No filter and no water circulation has left it a bit murky.... But sunbathing by it is still a grand old time!

Sure, it´s not "hotel clean" but for a south american hostel, it´s near spotless! Great food, great staff and great atmosphere but on that know that this is a party hostel so don't go there and be shocked to hear there's still a party going on at midnight. Get involved!!

A really nice hostel and great place to have a few chilled days. LOcated 2 blocks from the subway is useful but does mean that you have to buy at least 2 subway tickets a day (approx 4k total) to get in and out of the centre. But totally worth it. A R$10 saving with an HI card which is decent if you've got one. The rooms are all pretty nice too & the kitchen well set out. Shocked at the lack of English spoken for an HI hostel (my bumballing Spanish just about got me through). The other slight disappointment was the free breakfast. Very nice food and very well presented, but only a very small amount of it. Not what i´d say most travellers are looking for! Right near the centre of town and near the docks for boat tickets to Manaus.
