Great staff, building, guests. Top floor's lounge/kitchen has a small balcony with a great view for dinners for two. My 4-bed room was spacious with similar small balcony -- also a decent-sized bathroom and interesting floor tiles. The bottom floor's cafe has delicious veggie meals. Carlos at the reception desk got me cheap tickets for the Alhambra and a bus to Madrid. Staff and other guests helped me hugely when Spain's government abruptly closed all hostels. I'm forever grateful.

I've stayed here at least three times over the years. The family who owns and operates the hostel are nice. Other reviews have criticized the small size of the kitchen and the lack of room for socializing. Actually, the kitchen area is big enough for a few people to socialize. Also, there's space (and comfortable chairs) outside the room that doesn't have its own bathroom, but that room is separate from most other sleeping rooms so some guests may not realize that it's there.

Chet Baker on breakfast room´s sound system. Quotes in English from Machiavell´s ¨¨The Prince¨ in floor tiles of my room. Cool! Helpful staff. Most speak English. My five-bed room would have been crowded, but only one other person was there. We became friends fast. Good restaurants nearby. Cuatro Gatos has reasonably priced delicious Spanish food. Hostel´s location is superb. I hadn´t planned to visit Salamanca, but various people in Madrid told me to go for 1.5 days. Yes!

I've stayed there three times and hope to return. The owners are helpful. Breakfasts are better than many hostels provide. People staying at the hostel are interesting. Great location. It would be good if they got a better computer for guests to use.

Helpful staff speaks English. Free breakfast includes more than some other hostels' breakfasts. Rooms can be (but aren't necessarily) a bit crowded. Other people staying there were fun. Very clean. I'd gladly stay there again.
