One of the best London hostels I've stayed in! Really great staff and atmosphere. Good kitchen and laundry facilities, comfortable beds, really close to two tube stations, Hyde Park and not far from Oxford Street.
Hard to fault this place! Amazing location near the main square, good kitchen and bathroom facilities, helpful staff, friendly atmosphere with good common areas... and the best hostel breakfast I've had in 18 months of travelling!
Really great hostel, nice common area, comfortable rooms and friendly staff!
Close to main train station, short walk to Old Town. Kind of a loud, sociable hostel - good if that's what you're looking for! Breakfast not included but kitchen available also. Staff friendly and helpful :)
Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities, bright and spacious dorms, comfortable beds, AMAZING value! Only downsides were that it's a bit away from the centre, and the atmosphere was a little lacking with people not really hanging out in common areas. I'd definitely recommend this hostel though :)
Lovely little homely hostel! Friendly staff, good common areas and kitchen / bathroom facilities, would definitely recommend this place!
Excellent location and value for money, comfortable beds and nice dorms. There's a fridge and microwave, but no other kitchen facilities, and the atmosphere was a bit lacking when I was there. Friendly staff :)
Good location, nice and close to Earl's Court station. Good kitchen and bathrooms, cheap laundry facilities.
Lovely hostel in the heart of Marrakech! Super-friendly staff, very hospitable (lots of tea and cake!) and helpful with Moroccan travel advice. Nice common facilities, including a cool central courtyard and roof terrace. Comfortable beds, air-conditioning, nice bathrooms. Would be nice to have kitchen facilities, but otherwise no complaints!
Beautiful internal courtyard, amazing view from the rooftop terrace, great breakfast. I had booked a dorm, but was moved to a tiny poky single room (at additional cost). Not so great if you're travelling alone and hoping to meet other people. The manager was keen to help, but a bit pushy.
Okay place to stay for a night, similar to a few hostels-above-pubs I've stayed at in London.
Excellent location for anyone travelling from Victoria Station, bright and spacious rooms, lockers available in the basement. No kitchen or laundry facilities but there's a coin laundry literally next door.
Quite a long way from the centre of town, very tightly-packed dorm room, nice bathroom, management seemed unprofessional. Okay for one night, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again.
I arrived by bus and it was a bit of a trek (along a road) to get to the hostel, not so great with a heavy backpack, but very beautiful. Very relaxing location. Helpful staff and lots of info on local activities etc.
Excellent location and value for money. Very helpful to have a pick-up service for our late-night ferry arrival. The bathroom set-up wasn't the greatest. It was handy to have a kitchenette (with small stove, sink, crockery, etc) in our four-bed dorm room. Breakfast was a bit overpriced at 6 euros, but quite nice with a hard-boiled egg, cheese, fresh bread, jams, etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful!
Great location and staff. Delicious breakfast (French toast and fresh bread with jams, etc) included. Shower facilities weren't the greatest and the kitchen was a bit limited, but all in all a really good hostel option in Athens.
Good value for this central location in Montmartre, an easy walk from the metro station. Our twin room was quite pleasant, with good bathroom facilities. Breakfast was included (croissant, baguette, tea / coffee). Staff were variable in their manner: some friendly and helpful, others rude and dismissive. The main negative would be the security. Keys had to be left on hooks at reception, accessible by anyone (said to be "monitored" via CCTV, although this would be impossible!) Loved the cats!
Good location, close to Paddington Station. Atmosphere seemed lacking (large, multi-storey building with ?limited common areas). My 8-person dorm had a strong cigarette odour which was off-putting, but the ensuite bathroom was quite good. Disappointing not to have wifi included (although this is available at an affordable rate). Not a bad place, but I wouldn't rush to book here again.
This is a wonderful hostel! A real home-away-from-home! The staff are so welcoming, taking the time to help with luggage, physically show you around, answer local questions, etc. The rooms are light and spacious (even the 12-bed dorm, which is actually two adjoining rooms). There's a great kitchen and common areas, with help create a really friendly communal atmosphere. Free wifi, free breakfast, a chef who prepares delicious dinners for 5-6 euro... I'd definitely recommend this place!
You can see why this hostel wins so many awards! It has a great atmosphere, is well-located (just a few minutes from the metro or an easy half-hour walk to the main part of town), excellent kitchen and bathroom set-up, comfortable beds, free wifi and breakfast (including made-to-order fruit pancakes!). Best of all are the friendly staff who are more than happy to help with directions and advice, etc. I'd definitely recommend this place!
Great location, close to the centre of town. Nice to have churros for breakfast, but other options might also be a good idea! Clean rooms, good beds, bathrooms and kitchen. Atmosphere was a bit lacking.
Great location! I've stayed in a couple of other St Christopher's hostels and find them to be quite consistent. Breakfast is good, the beds are really comfortable and well set-up (bunks with curtains and reading lights etc), there's a bar attached to the hostel. Cons were the virtually non-existent "kitchen" and maybe a bit of an institutional feel? which I guess comes with large-scale accommodation.
I've stayed in a few of the Astor London hostels and think they're all really great! This one is really well-priced for such an excellent location. The staff are friendly, there's a good kitchen and common areas, the dorms are quite spacious. I'd definitely stay here again.
I only spent one night here. It was okay, but I wouldn't hurry back to stay here again. The dorms were small, the bathroom facilities weren't great and there was no free wifi. On the plus side, the beds were quite comfortable, the free breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
This is a lovely "boutique hostel" in an beautiful old building. It's nice and close to the train station. The dorms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the (free) breakfast is decent. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, with people tending to keep to themselves in the common areas, but it was still a great hostel and I'd definitely return.
I booked this hostel after having stayed at the Astor Museum previously. It was a similarly good hostel. The location was great, especially if you're coming from Victoria Coach Station (or the train station). The kitchen is a bit crowded but well set-up. I'd definitely return here.
This hostel is really well-located, in the middle of the Northern Quarter with loads of bars, restaurants, vintage shops etc nearby. The common areas weren't fantastic: the lounge area was kind of cold and empty, with people mainly hanging out in the kitchen. Apparently there's another Hatters hostel just around the corner, which is where most of the social activities take place. Breakfast is included and there's tea / coffee and toast available 24/7 :) Staff were friendly and helpful.
This hostel has an excellent location, really close to the station and right in the centre of town. The kitchen is well-equipped, but the common areas are limited and the atmosphere was a bit lacking. My dorm was a bit small but the beds were comfortable. I'd stay here again.
Really great hostel! Close to the train station, the castle and the "old town". Spacious dorms, nice common areas and well-equipped kitchen. I'd definitely stay here again.
This place lacks some atmosphere (it's a big multi-storey complex with an institutional feel), but the dorms and bathrooms are okay, there's a good included breakfast, good kitchen set-up, bar downstairs. Nice and central.

I had a little trouble finding this hostel - my map was a bit sketchy and I managed to walk past it several times! Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen and nice common areas.
This hostel is similar to the St Christopher's standard - clean and comfortable with good facilities, but large-scale and lacking a little in atmosphere.
Really cool building and decor, comfy beds, great kitchen area and very friendly staff! My room felt a little exposed, close to the common areas with an open unlocked door and large open internal window... but apart from this, I had a great stay here. Love the blackboard walls :)
I had a wonderful stay at Hostelle! After 5 weeks of hostel-staying, this hostel was a fantastic change - with its comfortable beds, spacious dorms, fantastic kitchen and bathroom facilities and great common room area. The owner was so friendly, helpful and hospitable. Minor downsides are that the wifi is a little temperamental and it's a (short) train trip away from the centre of Amsterdam. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends :)
I only spent one night at this hostel. It's away from the centre of town, but the bus stops right out the front (unfortunately I was travelling on a public holiday, when buses came at 2-hourly intervals!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room quite spacious, with 4 single beds - a nice change from the usual cramped bunkbeds! Wifi access was not the best, bit temperamental and only worked in a small area. Would probably stay here again if I returned to Bologna :)
The staff at this hostel were among the most helpful and friendliest I have encountered on my travels! The bathrooms were clean and the dorms were comfortable. It was really well-located, within the old part of town. It's always a bit disappointing not to have access to kitchen facilities in a hostel, but the chef here was lovely and very obliging. I'd definitely stay here again.
PROS: fantastic location, comfortable beds, great bathrooms. CONS: no lockers, poor breakfast, unprofessional management. DIRECTIONS ADVICE (!): from "Rialto" you cross over the main bridge and walk straight ahead through a long area of market stalls until you come to a little square. To the right is a covered market hall (fish market). You walk over towards the top left corner of the square, go over a small bridge and down some steps. Take the TINY alley straight ahead, then the first right :)
We stayed a couple of nights in a double room with an ensuite. POSITIVES - The staff were very pleasant and helpful, including allowing us to leave our bags in the reception area prior to check-in. The building has a lot of character and rooms are clean and comfortable. NEGATIVES - It's a bit of a hilly walk to and from the station with luggage, although not too far. Also a bit of a climb up the narrow and steep spiral staircase! Free wifi was only accessible from the dining room.
This hostel is well-located, a short walk from the Republique metro station. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful. We stayed in a four-person dorm room. It was quite cramped and lacked lockers, but the beds were comfortable and the sheets clean. It was definitely nice to have use of an ensuite bathroom (although it was a bit mouldy and had water leaking onto the floor). The kitchen facilities were quite good and breakfast was great! I would probably stay here again.
On the whole, I found this to be a lovely, clean, modern hostel with friendly travellers and staff. One unfortunate issue was the fact that the metal crates for use as lockers were unable to be secured with locks by any of the 8 travellers in our dorm, due to the size of the fastening mechanism. It was annoying not to be able to secure any belongings, without paying extra to use hire lockers in the basement. Otherwise, the breakfast was delicious, the facilities attractive and my stay enjoyable.
