Very much a basic hotel. Fine for a few nights. Convenient for transport.

Nice relaxed hostel. Staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the Snug for sitting and reading. Not a party hostel.

I felt like this hostel really understood the needs of its guests. I came in by night bus and was super grateful for the beds and showers on the top floor/roof allowing me to grab a nap and get cleaned up before heading out on a boat trip that I'd signed up for when I'd arrived.

This hostel has no staff on site. Payment is made in the form of cash posted into a safe.

The hostel is very convenient to the train station which suited our rather late arrival. We were disappointed by the cleanliness and security of the hostel it was generally a bit grubby and seemed as if anyone could get buzzed into the building. When we arrived we asked staff for recommendations of where to get food they weren't very helpful saying there were lots of places around.

Really nice clean hostel. It's a huge place with lots of families with small kids staying. It was perfect for our group but not ideal if you like meeting new people on your travels.

The free wifi seems to require you to 'check in' using facebook. It was quite annoying constantly being redirected to facebook to 'check in' when trying to do something else. Otherwise pretty standard conditions. We stayed in a dorm and it was really spacious and had a nice view over the water.
Thank you for your review! We have installed a new mesh network, which merges two high-speed accounts for a much faster singular connection, and allows users to move around the hostel without having to log on to a different network, or lose signal quality due to distance away from the routers. Facebook page is our default page for the network, but user can check in for free wifi by clicking Log In without Facebook check in. But keep in mind you get a free shot with every Like :)!

The main selling points are the location and the lounges which are lovely. The rooms are a little small but pretty standard for a hostel. It was nice that they had lockers with built in locks so you don't have to remember to bring your own padlock. My only complaint was there seemed to be an issue with toilets being flushed. I'd recommend simply putting up a 'press firmly' sign by the flusher checking them more regularly.
Hello! Thanks a lot for your feedback, I'm not sure too many people get to wake up at the foot of a castle; we definitely lucked out. We'll look into the toilets and sort it out. Thanks a lot!

Beware this is a nomads hostel and therefore the rooms are rather dirty and smell. This is more due to the clientele attracted by this type of party hostel. I was in the 6 bed mixed ensuite, I don't think it was with the extra money as the bathroom wasn't very nice and was located beside the front door resulting in being woken by the crowds leaving for the crossing in the morning, or people smoking and chatting outside.
Thanks for your feedback, we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We hope you came to the staff with any complaints as there were other rooms available during the time you stayed. It is difficult to deep clean rooms daily when guests are already occupying the shared rooms, but they should be cleaned and aired as much as possible, we have taken this up with our housekeeper.

Pretty standard hostel, although without bunk beds which is a nice change. No lockers.
Free unlimited wifi, no bunk beds (excellent innersprung mattresses) 41 degree spa... Sorry, but we think we anything but a pretty stanard hostel! Just saying :) Neil

I really loved this hostel. I stayed in the female dorm with ensuite and it felt like everything you need was provided. From towels and hair products to spices and secure lockers. They even had bikes and go pros you could borrow. I wish more hostels were this nice.

The dorm I was in was quite small but there was tons of under bed storage space in drawers. Nice kitchen and friendly staff.

We stayed in a 4 bed dorm and it was a tiny cupboard of a room with 2 sets of bunk beds squashed in. There were no lockers or plugs in the room. However the kitchen was well equipped and the location was excellent.

The hostel is run by a nice family that live in a separate building. It's very clean and comfortable but could do with a TV or wifi as there isn't much to do in the local area once it gets dark.
Thank you for your comments and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. Just to mention, we do have wifi but due to our location it can be a bit hit or miss so we do not advertise as having it and at present can only be picked up in one room in the hostel. We are looking into extending the range. We do have a lot of books and games for guests. We look forward to seeing you again.

Nice place, very clean and friendly staff. Although they had difficulty finding our booking which we'd made 4 months in advance and had to change rooms after one night. At least this wasn't a hassle as the staff moved our bags during the day while we were out. We had a shower in our room but not a toilet.

Very friendly staff and guests (including long-stayers). Although more bugs than your average hostel.
Hi P, thanks for your review, we hope you enjoyed your stay and your onwards travels are fantastic. We've been having regular visits from pest controllers as part of our management plan, unfortunately it's the nature of the area and the warmer weather that keeps us on our toes eradicating the little buggers. Tanks a Million :D

No lockers in rooms and it would be pretty easy for anyone to get up to the dorms. The bar however had a good atmosphere and its close enough to both the lagoon and marina.

The dorms are rather smelly. The staff were very friendly but I was unimpressed with having to check out and in again 4 hours later when I had booked for 2 consecutive days.

A lot of long stayers that made it hard for people just passing through to get involved. Plugs in lockers are a great idea.
Hi Patricia, Thanks for the review. As you can appreciate, we do have some guests who really enjoy staying at the hostel therefore stay longer than others and get to know some people better than others. In saying that we do encourage all our guests to mix and meet new people on our free wine nights, quiz nights and daily activities. We even have our entertainment manager who organises events for everyone to enjoy together. Thanks

The staff were very kind and accomodating. We arrived around 2am and were thankful to be able to get straight into some beds.

I arrived early in the morning and had to pay for an extra night's stay (which was fine as I managed to get some sleep during that time). Excellent location and friendly staff who were very helpful and happy to book taxis etc. My only complaint was the sheets were very itchy (I ended up having to sleep in my sleeping bag liner).
Dear Guest. Our check in and out time is written here, so you should know how to book. if you want to come earlier than your booking you should expect to pay for previous day. no one is going to loose money and help you to save own money. According to bed sheets-first of all they were new, and plus we wash them every day. when you sleep in newly washed sheet it can me harder than on the next day. (you are the only guest who had complaint about this).
