Just stayed for one night. Needed to be close to the airport for an early flight. Building security was very good and atmosphere inside the hostel was warm and friendly. There was plenty of nice art throughout the hostel and I liked the dog. I stayed in the dorm. Seemed clean and the mattress was comfortable. Water in the shower was more lukewarm than hot (pretty typical in Central America). The 4AM shuttle to the airport in the morning went smoothly. Recommended.

Even though it was big, it wasn’t a party hostel. Plus, it had free water, free pancake breakfast, and best of all, a pool. It wasn’t that big, but it didn’t need to be, and it sure felt good. I stayed in a private room with a fan that helped with the heat at night. The location was good, just a short walk north from And the wi-fi was decent, especially for Nicaragua. If I come back to Granada, I’ll at the Oasis again, no question.

Stayed in the dorm in June of 2015. No AC, but there was a ceiling fan as well as fans next to the beds. Still, June is a very hot time of year to be in Grenada. Sleep was difficult. The courtyard was ringed with hammocks and had plenty of nicely decorated lounge areas. Wifi was good for Nicaragua. Staff was friendly and kept the place clean. Location was good, just a short walk east to Parque Central.

Stayed in the 6 bed mixed dorm. No AC, but it did have a fan in the room that kept it cool enough to sleep. I’d recommend keeping the door shut. I woke up one morning to find a fiddler crab in my bed. The kitchen was spacious with a fridge available. WiFi speed was not great. The best place to access it seemed to be the rooftop, where you could also relax on one of several hammocks. They did a bar-b-que one night that was fun and tasty. It is what is - a cheap place to stay in the West End.

1877 is very clean, with a nice, colorful, modern decor. The dorm bed was comfortable and the room had AC that kept me comfortable overnight. There were indoor and outdoor social areas, a big screen TV and lots of couches. Power points were plentiful and the wi-fi worked well. The owner was very helpful with regard to local activities and transportation arrangements. If I find myself back in La Ceiba, I’ll definitely stay at 1877 again.

Comfortable beds, quiet at night so it was easy to sleep. The front desk was manned 24 hours a day and entry was via locked gate for security. Common area had comfortable couches and enough outlets to for residents to keep their gear charged up. The wi-fi was pretty reliable and fairly quick. No AC but I loved the free breakfast and the hot water in the showers. The staff was friendly, helpful, spoke some English and could arrange transportation and outings to local attractions. Recommended.
