Equity Point is a very clean hostel and this is very important for some people who may not be able to afford more expensive accommodation. There are lockers for those worried about their belongings and the ensuite facilities are very clean and good. The staff are helpful and friendly. The one drawback is no kitchen facilities at all. This is problematic for those who cannot eat the food provided need a drink or hot waterbottle in the night or hot water for some other purpose.

I needed to set off before the standard breakfast time but there were no facilities for making early breakfast or even a cup of coffee

This was an Aussie hostel and had a very warm friendly atmostphere and was spotlessly clean. I was particularly pleased with the showers which worked well and the clean toilets. The bunks were ultra comfortable and there was a little kitchen in the bar which provided a good place to make breakfast if you couldnt eat the hostel food. I expected a bit of noise in the bar because the Aussies like a good drink but not a bit of it when I wanted to sleep it was really quiet.
