The hostel itself is a fantastic place to stay - good facilities, all clean, a mix of good people coming through. However I was severely let down by the staff, if they spent as much time trying to help guests as they did gossiping with other members of staff the hostel would be much more welcoming IMHO.
Easily one of the best hostels I've stayed at in the past few months! The staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere there was very welcoming. Also, obligatory shout out to Chris the shuttle driver, an absolute legend in his own right (you need to stay here to find out why). The location isn't ideal, but even though they advertise shuttles from 9am - 12pm and 5pm-10pm, the drivers will almost always drive you outside of these hours
A great place to stay - close to the metro line that leads you downtown and very secure. The staff hours are a bit weird, but they're very helpful when you catch them!
Fantastic hostel, really close to everything, but not as close to downtown as I thought it would be for the price. However the rooms are very secure and have only 4 beds each (allowing you to get to know your roommates very easily!). Amazing facilities, everything was clean and the staff are extremely helpful (even going as far as giving you a free bar crawl in the neighbourhood if you can gather 8+ people together)
This hostel has extremely good value for money, I couldn't believe how close to downtown it is! Also the staff are extremely friendly, there is a bar in the basement (that also serves up some really good food and has planned activities regularly) and is quite secure. The only downside are the showers - the 10 male mixed dorm room was lucky enough to have a small bathroom/shower right next to it (which was pretty run down), but the "regular" showers were worse.
This was my first hostel experience ever and it was extremely comforting to walk into what appeared to be somebody's house! Shoes off, kitchen for all, computer access etc. It was very cosy and really close to downtown (~10 minute walk). Despite the warm setting it was almost sombre, nobody talked to each other or socialized a lot (at first I thought this was normal, but other hostels are most definitely not like this). Put simply, its a very nice place to sleep, but don't expect to meet people
