The Philadelphia House

Philadelphia, USA

This hostel is awesome, it is the definition of what a hostel is meant to be! As soon as you arrive you feel at home, and the welcome feeling that the staff provide is second to none. The common areas are perfect for hanging out, and provide plenty of entertainment before you even explore Philly. The facilities are great and the location is exactly where you want to be. However, the staff are what make this place the best. I wish I could have stayed longer for so many reasons. Highly recommend!

Had a great time at this hostel! Was only there for a couple of nights but was helped out immensely by the lovely staff, especially Cayley & Cleopatra. The tours they offer are great and the tickets we got through the hostel for the baseball were super cheap. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who wants a good hostel with a great location. Plus the free pool table which provided a lot of entertainment.

This hostel was ok, and fulfilled all that it needed to but wasn't anything special. The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were always clean, but the downstairs area apparently had a kitchen but it was a sorry excuse for one...no stove, oven or other cooking facilities. The common area felt like a dining hall and the staff were polite when you first check in but seem pretty unhappy doing their job which can reflect in the service they provide. I enjoyed my stay here but I guess its just average.

This hostel is awesome! It is located in a great little street that is a short walk to the center and all the shops you need. The hostel itself is very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were always friendly and willing to help. Also, at night the downstairs area/bar attracts locals and which makes for a great opportunity to have a great night meeting travelers and locals without even leaving the confines of the hostel. I would highly recommend this hostel. It was one of my favs

MEININGER Brussels City Center

This place is great! It is huge and can feel a bit like a hotel at times, however it still has dorms and the rooms are really nice and clean, great ensuite facilities and a tv in the room. The staff are super friendly and happy to help. plus the facilities of the hostel do include a decent kitchen and the bar downstairs is a great place to meet people. Another helpful thing is that the great free walking tour also starts from the hostel. Recommend this hostel to anyone heading to Brussels.

This hostel is awesome! The staff were super friendly and always up for a chat, the bedrooms are modern and equipped with super comfortable beds. The facilities in the kitchen are some of the best I have seen in a hostel in all my travels, plus has free breakfast that is great, and frequently cake is provided to guests. The common area is very spacious with plenty to do in your free time and a great space to hang out with other people. Being a long time traveler I recommend this place highly.

Aivengo Hostel

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I knew it was going to be an interesting experience staying in a 20 bed dorm room, however this hostel was worse than expected. The beds were uncomfortable like sleeping directly on the springs, they may say there are kitchen facilities but its a bar fridge in a corner with a kettle and microwave directly that is opposite the showers. Each morning at 9am, regardless if you are checking out, the staff open the doors to the room and play loud music to make sure people wake 1 hour before checkout.

Alexanderplatz Accomodation

Berlin, Germany

We booked this hostel because compared to the others we found it was very well priced for its location right next Alexanderplatz. The hostel is kept clean and the beds are comfortable, however there is no common area for guests to relax, the kitchen facilities are limited and the wifi is 5 euros per 24 hours. However, just downstairs on the corner is a great cafe not associated with the hostel called Coffee Fellows where you can chill out, eat and use their totally free wifi.

After looking on the list of hostels for Rome this hostel stood out straight away because it appeared to be clean, new and good value for money. Well it definitely lived up to this, it was very clean, very new and modern and other than the fact that there is no kitchen it had great facilities. The beds were comfortable and the rooms with bathrooms were great. They also don't do that stupid thing that other hostels do in Rome where they kick you out for a few hours to clean. Recommend this place.

First of all, Ellie is awesome. The staff at the hostel were super helpful and helped us decide exactly what was worth visiting. With the bar/restaurant just downstairs it adds a whole new life to this hostel. The restaurant attached is not just for the hostel guests, it attracts hundreds of locals for dinner on multiple nights. This hostel is great and highly recommended.

Fantastic hostel! There was two of us and we got to experience both the dorm rooms and one of the private rooms, both were clean, super comfortable and the private room was amazingly spacious. The Giuseppe, Veronica and Hallie were all very welcoming, informative and enthusiastic. The places they recommended were all very affordable and the restaurant recommendations were great! When we go back to Palermo we be staying there again for sure! Thanks guys for a great stay! J&J

This hostel is fantastic and for many reasons. Fristly, the location is great, as it is close to all the sights/clubs/bars/restaraunts that are worth going to, and is a short walk to the river. Secondly the hostel itself is clean, well-kept and has the facilities needed such as comfortable beds, good kitchen and bathrooms, fast wifi, and a nice courtyard area and balconies to chill out. Lastly, the staff are very friendly and always happy to help out with anything. I definitely recommend it :-)

I love this hostel!! Danny, Pablo, Sole and Luciana are amazing people and if you go to Tilcara you must stay here. The dinners they cook regularly are well worth it and taste amazing, the location is great for visits to the main attractions of Tilcara and the atmosphere is always great each night with singing, dancing and a lot of laughs. I have been to Tilcara twice and stayed in this hostel both times. I would recommend this hostel over and over again.

I didnĀ“t end up staying at this hostel because of a late bus into Vienna, however I am leaving a review just to clear up that the part of their advertisement that says no curfew doesn`t mean that reception is open 24 hours a day, as I arrived at 2am and was told when ringing the buzzer to go and find a hotel and come back in the morning. Just a heads up.

If you are to Bratislava there is no hostel I could recommend higher than this one. It is a fantastic hostel with great facilities, clean and in a great location. They were always friendly, helpful, play the best music in the common area and were the reason why I loved Bratislava so much and ended up staying twice as long as I originally planned to.

This hostel is fantastic. There is a reason it is so highly rated and that has to certainly be the staff. They are so friendly and are always so happy to help and have a smile on their face. The location is super close to the main pedestrian street that connects the republic square and the fortress. Also, this hostel ensures comfort rather than packing as many people into one room. The dorms are spacious and kept super clean. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Belgrade.
