City Guesthouse

Toronto, Canada

Great hostel, the staff are polite and helpful, the place is clean, great location. Have stayed here 3 times and love it. It is a quiet hostel so I wouldn't recommend it for people who want to party and socialize.

Great hostel, would definitely stay here again. Make sure you rent a car though to tour the island.

Princes Street Backpackers East

Edinburgh, Scotland

The mattress was made of only springs and almost no padding. I woke up with a soar back and neck from it. No locks on doors. Bathrooms were dingy and dirty.

St Christopher's at The Winston

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Great hostel, right in the centre. Staff were nice and knowledgable. Bar was cheap and had decent food as well as a smoking room for those of you who like that. Rooms were huge and felt comfortable. Toilet in the 8 bed dorm room. Will definitely come back here.

Flying Pig Uptown

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Decent hostel, could have been a little cleaner. Bar was fun and drinks were decent prices.

Excellent hostel. Would definitely stay again. Felt like a Hotel because it was so clean and modern.

Smart Camden Inn Hostel

London, England

The 6 bed dorm room was basically a sardine can. No room to move and the lockers under the bed aren't free. They ask for a 10 pound deposit per person, the most expensive i've ever come across. They charged for EVERYTHING and the 'free' wifi only works in a 5 foot radius of the front desk. The shower was the toilet basically, the whole room was wet when you showered as the curtain doesn't keep the water in and the light turns off automatically every 15 seconds. Lots of nice patrons though.

Hatters at Hilton Chambers

Manchester, England

Love this hostel, but would be better if wifi was throughout the building. Far too expensive on weekends.

Mec Hostel

Dublin, Ireland

The hostel is old and has very little character. Carpets look dirty and the bathrooms were very unclean. The floor is coming apart in many areas and there was dirt everywhere. The shower was terrible as it gives you no room to hang our clothes/shoes without getting soaking wet and turns off after about 10 seconds. Breakfast was very average and wasn't any better than hostels that I've been that include it in the price.

Argyle Backpackers

Edinburgh, Scotland

We showed up and checked in and they ended up putting us in another building down the street that had absolutely no wifi and one of the receptionist admitted our room was the smallest room they have. Not impressed, did not get what we paid for.

Vita Nova

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Was a cheap place to stay, but the rooms were so tiny you could barely move. There is no security at night, anyone can just walk in. The breakfast was great, best we have had anywhere, location was decent, about 15 min walk to the city centre. I would stay here again solely based on the price as amsterdam is quite expensive.

EastSeven Berlin Hostel

Berlin, Germany

Amazing hostel, exactly what I wanted. Clean, fun, modern, good location. A+

The campsite is exactly what you would expect, party all day and night. Perfect for people who want that kind of vibe! Good value for the money, they give you food in the morning and at night. Tents are tiny which i expected, but when it rained all our stuff got soaked as they didnt keep out the water very well. But hey, its camping, what more can you expect. The unlimited booze was great, except that the sangria came out of a garden watering can.

Hostel One Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

Loved this hostel, our room was huge and clean. The staff was really and the atmosphere was fun and energetic. They had happy hour in their own private little bar downstairs and encouraged all the guests to go mingle which was fun. You have to take a 5 min tram ride into the city center but i preferred staying a little bit out of the craze as the streets of the city center were crowded all the time. I wish they had a laundry room instead of a laundry service.

HBC Hostel

Budapest, Hungary

Such a great hostel. The guy who runs it is so helpful and friendly and helped us book all our tours and entertainment. He got all the guests together to provide us with a Hungarian meal and it was a great way to meet everyone. Location is perfect, good value for money. Will stay here again.

City Hostel Geneva

Geneva, Switzerland

Hostel felt like a hotel because it was so big and business like. Was clean and in a good area for geneva, close to everything. Not much character, staff were helpful though and there was everything you needed there. Don't go here though if you are looking for a fun party hostel (which we weren't). All in all a pleasant stay.

Snuffel Backpacker Hostel

Bruges, Belgium

Nice and fun hostel. Happy hour at the bar was a plus with amazing Belgium beer. Location was perfect, right by everything you need. Woke up with 6 itchy bug bites though, i'm hoping it was because we left the window open and it was mosquito's. Could have been bed bugs though, who knows.

St Christopher's Camden

London, England

Great hostel, fun and friendly atmosphere. Lots of drink specials at the bar downstairs. All the facilities you could need. Breakfast was included but it was just cereal and white toast with jam and stuff. Would stay at another St.christophers hostel again.
