The wifi was ok but you have to login all the time and it's annoying, location isn't bad although that part of town looks sketchy

The shower curtains should be changed and there are also some rusty soaps left behind in one of the showers. The wifi works properly in the common room (which is quite good quality most of the time, but not always)

Hideous to find, although great central location. Bedroom floors are noisy, so it's not recommended for light sleepers (there's also some bar/pub/disco nearby during the weekends so it's noisy also during weekends)

Power outages, edgy wifi, the hostel is split into 2 different buildings and my room had no actual windows that could be opened

The best and most reliable WiFi I've used in India, the location for the Taj is awesome and easy to find with several ATMs and the ticket office incredibly close. One of the reception guys was the least welcoming person I've ever met but luckily Sachin was so lovely he compensated the ungrateful experience :) The cafe is good quality and price also and the aircon worked great. Closing and locking the door of the Ensuite shared bathroom was a challenge every time

Bathroom was sketchy (rusty shower, toilet didn't flush properly, there was no curtain so it will flood after every shower), WiFi was quite random (every day I stayed I had to change network and that involved going into a different floor). You get what you pay for, although the place has a lot of potential

As soon as I arrived the staff will only take cash (although the place is listed as CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED). The place isn't easy to reach by public transportation since there's no metro nearby. The room was dirty and the bathroom was sketchy (the toilet wouldn't flush properly and the shower will flood the whole bathroom). I booked a "Deluxe 4 Bed Male dorm Ensuite" and got into a mixed 7 bed room without enough power outlets for all of us, of course. Breakfast was ok and cheap meals are sold

The heater in the room wasn't working and although some extra blankets were provided it felt quite cold. Wifi wasn't 100% reliable and staff wasn't usually at reception, I'd rather say it's over-expensive for the location and service provided

The coldest room I've ever stayed in (and it wasn't even winter while I stayed), the toilet wouldn't flush properly and the location was quite far away from everything. The breakfast was ok, although for the price you'd expect something better
Thank you for the constructive criticism. I take to heart what has been said and wish I could have made your stay more pleasant at the time of your stay as I was not aware of the items you mention. - I realize the Hostel was very quiet on your visit and that accounts for the atmosphere part. I am endeavoring to push at more guests to get the atmosphere up. - Johannesburg in general is a sprawling city, so most hostels may be close to one thing - but further from others. I try to make the traveling more understandable and accessible. As with you - I provide bus tickets as the stop is only 100m away, and also organise Uber on request (even when I make no money at all from it). - I am not sure why the facilities are regarded below average as I provide Netflix, high speed WIFI and well maintained chill areas. Even so - I am going to upgrade with a pool table. - I am concerned that the staff rated below average. I will address this as well as I can. Regarding the cold room - yes - Johannesburg does get cold and the historic house design does not address this as it would in Europe. I do keep the lounge warm as you experienced. I am now going to introduce panel heaters into the dorm even though it will negatively affect my energy footprint. I was unaware of the toilet - and would have addressed it immediately if requested by you. My breakfast is "basic continental" and runs throughout the day. On reflection of your statement, I will add some items to what is available, address presentation, and fix the hours better for me to make sure that it is to my guests liking. Thanking you again for the constructive criticism.

Breakfast is nice, WiFi isn't working anywhere but at the reception and most of the time really slowly, if at all. The rooms are nice and clean. Staff is polite and friendly

Unbeatable location (besides the Cathedral, Alcazar and the Giralda Tower) and a few minutes away from every other attraction, it's in between two major bus stations (both at a walking distance). The best of it all? The staff and the FREE DINNER, two awesome chefs every night serving awesome food (even local dishes like tortilla with vegetarian options!). The next time I go to Seville, I'll be there for sure (WARNING: Beds are quite comfortable and private, so try to use a lot of alarms :P )

The staff poops rainbows of love all the time; As soon as you come across them, they'll offer you their help and sometimes specific stuff like water, ice or an invitation to change the music. Juan and Ulises are the best

Beds were fine (the first room is extremely noisy during weekends at least), the shower needs a really good cleaning and breakfast is quite simple and starts at random times.

Beds are pretty simple (a.k.a. thinnest pillows ever) and the room that's facing the street is a little noisy
