Finally a hostel where the pictures actually look like reality. Staff was very friendly, spoke English and helped us to find a great restaurant, tango show. Our room was perfect, they even cleaned the room which we didn't expect at all ! Breakfast was amazing with a personal touch: very good value for money !
The staff couldn't smile (except the man behind the bar :-) ). They say they have an amazing breakfast: none of that at all. They said they had a laundry service: nope, I could do it myself. They say they have a pool but I didn't even want to touch the water with my feet. And at the end they tried to make us pay a second time while we paid at check-in.
Concerning our room we have no issues. Everything was clean and in order. Only, we reserved two seperate beds and upon arrival the receptionist told us there were no separate beds in the whole hotel. Strange no? We booked this hotel because of the fitness facilities and the swimming pool. None of the equipment worked and the receptionist couldn't (wouldn't?) help us at all. So we would have been better of in a hostel.
The people at the reception are so amazingly helpful and give real and correct information. Dave booked us a trip to Sapa, and when we compared to the other trips, ours was the most amazing one. Little Hanoi Hostel has been our home away from home in Hanoi. While we were on our trips to Halong Bay and to Sapa, our luggage was safely stored and looked after. When we came back, we were offered a shower and breakfast even without booking an extra room for a night. Absolutely great!
