Surf 'N' Snow Backpackers

The place was ok, no atmosphere. The staff were friendly enough, but it felt like I had missed the party by 5 years, everything taty and dated. The beds were incredibly thin-could feel the bed slats under the mattress. The dorm stank, and the toilets and showers had been repaired badly. I only stayed one night, so that was ok, but needs a total refit!! Nothing in comparison to nomads and base (which i don't like) but at least they are updated and there's some atmosphere.

Great place, great character and although it is a bit more money it's definately worth it. Cannot urge everyone to at least go and see the place, even for just a night. Free homemade soup, friendly staff. I was only there 3 nights and was spending most of my time with mates, so was only there to sleep. 10 mins walk from the cbd is no hassle. After 11.5 months in Aus, definately the best place I've stayed

Booked for three days and stayed a week, will be heading back when i'm in Sydney again. It's not 5 star, so don't expect it to be...it's a hostel...with a great family/hostel vibe...and yes the toilets are that clean. The location is perfect, just off the main road so it's not too noisey. You couldn't ask for more as a lone traveller! Oh and the staff are great banter and there's always someone around to help!
