Swiss Cottage is a bit from the center, but it's about a 15 min. Tube ride to Westminster. The rooms vary incredibly in terms of size and "finished" quality. The triple bunkbeds are a bit harrowing, but otherwise, it's a beautiful setup.
What a great hostel! Very clean, comfortable, and in a good location.
This hostel is spotless and beautifully designed. It's small enough to feel intimate yet large enough to spread out. And literally any whim that you can think of is there—food, spices, full kitchen, mouthwash, feminine hygiene (WHAT?). The best part is Lilly, who is definitively the friendliest person in Austria. For your journey, don't stop believin'.
I'm still surprised at the location, which is right near the Cathdral and about a 20 minute walk to the heart of the city. Good Wi-Fi (even though you had to pay...), clean bathrooms. Rooms got a bit hot.
It's all above a pub, which lends to a steady stream of people to talk to (although, it's generally an older crowd than most of the hostels). It's also right near the South Bank, which is one of the coolest parts of London. Felt safe.
It was a really nice place--good community. I just wish it were closer to the main part of the city.
So the hostel part on the sixth floor is definitely unfinished. Compared to the other rooms on the lower floors (not even privates, just other dorms), they are a bit dark and cramped. Good internet though, 24-hr. reception. Breakfast is a bit sparse for having to pay for it.
it was quite nice! More plugs in the rooms would be nice, but we made due with two in a room of four people.
Great set of facilities. I wish there were more electrical sockets in the rooms though. The one I was staying in had two plugs for 8-10 people.
Great location--right by Paddington, and not one of those usual "right by the train station" options. Really clean and modern. Good decór.
The prison theme continued with the door locks, which clanked in the night every single time someone came in. Also, it'd be great if there would be Wi-Fi in the room and if the bathrooms could be cleaned more regularly. However, the hostel is a good location with an awesome courtroom/computer set up. The bar is a great scene as well.
This is literally everything you could ever want from a hostel. The interior is gorgeously decorated, you're given a set of keys so you can come and go as you please, and EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED. They aren't kidding when they say that--breakfast, shampoo, towels, linen, laundry, locker, even feminine hygiene products! What? But yes, Lilly is the sweetest human being alive as well. Ripley said that a fool is born every second--and that's just because they haven't stayed here.
Oh my God. Best Hostel ever. Olga and Gabor were super sweet and since it's on the small side, everyone ended up becoming friends. :D
