The hostel was a little difficult to find and not clearly sign posted. The rooftop area was good and they had large common area to interact with fellow travellers. The hostel is not in the nicest part of town. The owners are very welcoming, but are quite strict when it comes to what time you need to check out.
The hostel was quite easy to find and the staff were great. The promotions that had at the hostel were excellent.
Hostel definitely needs an elevator especially if you are staying on top floors. Massive common area and kitchen. Staff were great and the breakfast was excellent. Not far from cathedral which was great.
Hostel in good location, not far from train station. Good bars nearby but would have been better to have some more social activities to take advantage of their bar and common facilities. Staff were helpful and provided excellent advice.
This was one top hostel. The staff were very helpful and able to assist whenever we need them. The happy hour from 8 to 10pm nightly was brilliant (and even after that the beers were cheap). Great size common area and the walking tour they organised was the best one I have been on. Only one criticism was the lack of a lift service. Rooms / bathrooms were clean and modern.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were of generous size and clean. Plenty of bathroom facilities and kitchen quite handy. Hostel maybe requires more social activities to help meet other fellow travellers. Hostel was best value for money in town.
Location is the best part of this hostel, right in the heart of the old town. Hostel is rather old and needs renovation (especially of the staircase). Staff were friendly and helpful. More bathrooms would be helpful as well.
As has been mentioned many times on this site, the owner Luka was very welcoming and offered great advice on many of the local attractions. After reading about his infamous BBQ nights, we were kind of disappointed that none were held during our 3 nights stay (which was from a Friday to Sunday - the BBQ was held the night after we left. The laundry service appeared to be overly expensive. On the positive side, we were able to buy food / drinks at the hostel and they organised regular nights out.
The hostel was in an excellent location not far from the bus station and boat terminal. Staff were always on hand and helpful. Small hostel and lack of common area but not far from bars so not much of an issue. Would be helpful if signs were posted to keep noise to a minimum after 11pm as we were woken up very late by other rowdy travellers in adjacent rooms.
The hostel was in a good location for many of the major sites in Rome. The size of the hostel limited the amount of space that could be used for a common / cooking area. We were unable to buy drinks / food in the hostel. Security would have been great apart from the front door often being left open. The staff were great and helpful and the comic themes to the rooms were very creative and original
Stayed for one night back in May. Hotel was a bit of a walk from major sights, although the rooms were clean.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Porto Spot Hostel. The staff there were friendly and more than willing to help with any questions that I had. They even went out of their way to organise a day trip to Braga as well. Highly recommend this hostel.
