Sky Lounge Hostel

Mostar, Bosnia And Herzegovina

Though a bit out of town, the shuttle works well and the views from the top deck/pool are incredible. It feels almost like a nice hotel: ac, balconies, kitchenette. Dave was an awesome driver, and Maya and Magdalena were friendly and kept everything sparklingly clean. I wish we could have stayed longer. Reception was helpful too- set up airport transfer. Only suggestion: lockers.

Hostel Ljubicica

Sarajevo, Bosnia And Herzegovina

Dont be duped: the lady at reception will try to upgrade you to a 6 person dorm from the 14 or 26 for the same price. This is not an upgrade. 6 person rooms are outside of the center by a 10-15 min walk up a large hill. Four 6-person rooms share 1 toilet and shower. The dorms are ok and have a good hangout area/location but the rooms have no windows/ac and can get hot/stuffy. We had bed bug bites. But, for the price, i guess i cant complain.

Green Studio Hostel

Belgrade, Serbia

I wish i would have stayed here the first week i was in Belgrade. I was only here for a night but the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Free Rakia shots are not a myth. A.C. is a plus as are lockers, good kitchen, good beds. Easy walking distance from the bus/train station.

Hostel Mostel

Sofia, Bulgaria

One of the best hostels i have stayed at in 2.5 months of traveling. Friendly staff, great value, cool trips (the free caving trip was incredible), awesome breakfast, good location. Changed our stay from 3 to 7 to 9 days it was that good. Has everything: wall sockets, lockers, clean bathrooms and showers, etc.

Mystic Simurgh Hostel

Istanbul, Turkey

We moved here after a bad experience in another hostel in Istanbul. Much better. Good location- not far from Taskim and bars, clubs etc. Great vibe. Open and helpful staff. Decent kitchen, large rooms and beds, lockers. A little noisy from the street so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs.

Route 39

Istanbul, Turkey

Value for what you pay here is low. They charge a conversion fee that is higher (for us, mid July they converted the amount in euro that we owed for our booking using 1 euro: 3.2 lira). Elswhere, the rate was 2.8. We brought this to their attention and were told we could leave but the other hostels used the higher rate too. Not true. We found a better hostel. Also 9 lira for beer on rooftop and you cant bring your own-a 50% markup on beer prices from the corner store across the street. Dirty too

Belcity Hostel

Belgrade, Serbia

Ana is so accommodating and does a great job of making her home feel like your home. Staying here gave us the space we needed to relax and recooperate before continuing our journeys. Thanks Ana for the meticulous attention!

Infinity Party Hostels

Budapest, Hungary

To verify what is explicit in the name, this is a party hostel. If you are not looking for late nights/early mornings and rowdy roommates do not come here. If you want to party and meet other partiers, this is the hostel for you. There is some organized activity (pub crawl, spa party, etc ) every night of the week. The staff are all very friendly and hang out so much that at first they are hard to distinguish from guests. Yeah, its not super clean, but the showers/toilets/kitchen all work.$Value

One World Hostel

Krakow, Poland

Awesome hostel. The free breakfast was great-eggs, cereal, toast, tomatoes, cucumbers, coffee, tea, milk. The staff was amazing. One morning, i woke up late and Asia was even kind enough to serve me the breakfast leftovers. All the staff was helpful and friendly giving us tips about things to do and see. Great location, great vibe. I would come back.

City Public Hostel

Copenhagen, Denmark

We were here because 1.Copenhagen was the cheapest place to fly to and 2. This was the cheapest hostel. The kitchen was great - very large and an excellent opportunity to save over overpriced local food. The staff were also very helpful and informative about fun/interesting things to see and do outside of the ordinary.
