One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at. From the back porch fire pit / hot tub with a view out towards the mountains to the great in-room lockers with electronic key codes, to the amazing free breakfast, this place was a real treat.
Not bad for NYC. Great location, a block from the subway and a block from Central Park. Switched from a girls dorm that had individual outlets and shelves at each of the beds to a mixed dorm that did not. Awesome big showers with plentiful hot water. Cute lounge and outdoor area.
Lovely hostel. Incredibly clean and new inside. Entrance is through a slightly sketch alleyway, but right off of a nice pedestrian shopping street. Beds were lovely, and nice big lockers with an outlet inside. There isn't really a kitchen area, and while they offered tea, I couldn't find a mug to put it in. Staff was really nice and helpful when I needed to figure out what time to catch the bus to the airport.
Really wonderful hostel right in the center of town, 5 minute walk from the bus and 5 minute walk to the sea. The owner very kindly stayed for my late arrival. Gave me a free drink when I got there and a free coffee when I left. Really fun place with lots of character. Didn't give a 100% review because the hostel could use higher divides / light covers to shield the individual rooms from the main light, lockers could be inaccessible if another guest was showering where they were stored.
Nice hostel. Free pickup from the train station (5 km away). Great place if you've been traveling for a while and want to hole up and play board games for a couple days. Not a great place if you're dependent on public transit since you need to take a train 1.5 hours away from the main line to get there and then need to take it back to get anywhere else. While the surroundings were pretty, probably a better use of limited time to keep heading further west towards the mountains. Great dinner!!
This hostel was my favorite over 3 months of travelling. Lily is absolutely delightful. The apartment fosters lots of conversations with other guests (as did the free wine and beer that often appeared in the kitchen for us). Never seen such a well-stocked and clean kitchen at a hostel. The bathrooms also came supplied with free toiletries. The common area is incredibly comfy - the hammock is a real plus. Although the price might seem high compared to other hostels, the value is wonderful.
Such a lovely hostel. Follow the hostel's walking directions from the bus stop EXACTLY. Beds all have individual reading lights, small shelves and outlets next to them. Individual lockers (not big enough for a backpack but enough space for valuables) in the rooms. Incredibly cozy living room with board games, books, instruments, etc. Great kitchen. Showers were a little funky but definitely worth the stay here.
As other reviewers have said, it is definitely a party hostel. There are other options insofar as just chilling: an outdoor courtyard, media room with dvds and a nice computer room with about 5 working computers. However, when I was there, it had a party focused crowd rather than people who wanted to go see the city. Dorms are very spacious. The location is very convenient to the main train and bus stations (10 min walk) but outside of the city center. Feels unsafe at night by oneself.
Great hostel. A bit more hotel like than hostel-y. But incredibly clean, wonderful facilities, and a great location less than 10 min walk from the train station.
Very nice hostel. A bit hotel-like. Dorm room was pretty cramped. Individual lockers. Nice common spaces but on the small side. Really nice reception. Good system for arriving after hours and so close to the train.
Really nice hostel a few minutes walk from the Hamburg Altona station. If you want to be near the Hamburg hbf station, then this is not for you! Altona is really cute though and easily accessible via public transit to downtown. Huge, airy hostel rooms with single beds, no bunks. Really clean. No real common areas or kitchen though. Staff did let me store a couple things in the fridge however.
It is a very clean, hotel-like hostel in a perfect location. That said it has zero hostel atmosphere. No real common spaces, no common kitchen, etc. Best for the older or professional staying at a hostel.
Beautiful clean hostel. Even has a tv room (selection of free dvds) and a meditation/music room with guitar and piano to hang out. Big clean kitchen and huge day lockers. Only complaint was that the room itself was pretty cosy, lockers were placed in the hall outside. They have vouchers for 40% off the schilthorn rail so if you are thinking of going, check in before you buy at the station!
Building is rather old. Felt odd to enter through a slightly sketch courtyard but from what I heard that is common in Budapest. No a/c. Cute individual lockers. Lovely hangout area with a swing. Staff are wonderful. They organize outings every night and are really inclusive. Esp enjoyed Kat's history chatting. =)
Really great stay. The staff (esp nini) were amazing. Free dinner and an amazing breakfast. Really nice common area with pool table, computers, tv and plenty of lounge seats. Organized trip to Rila monastery and nightly pub crawls. Made me want to stay longer!
I got lost finding it. It is halfway down rhe block, not at the intersection where Google maps puts it. The building looks run down from the street and when I stayed, didn't have a sign outside indicating it was the hostel. They messed up my female only dorm I had booked through here. The girl at reception said they didn't have the ability to do it in their computers yet. However she looked through individual rooms to find me one with no guys. Other than that, really clean. Nice kitchen.
