It would have been nice if there had been lockers, and electrical outlets by the beds. There were very few plugs in the room at all. Internet was $5 for your stay, yet there was free wifi available at one of the nearby restaurants.

No A/C and no elevator made for a hot and tiring entry into the hostel with my luggage. The privacy curtains around the beds and the locker storage were nice though!

Only a few showers/toilets for a lot of people! Staff was very kind and helpful.

A little frustrating with the keys and internet. You had to sign up to use internet, but no one paid any attention to the sign-up. Also, you had to turn the key in every time you left the room, so others could get in. No security with the keys either. Location close to Westbahnhof was good though.

The keys always have to be left at the reception when the guests go out .Every guest has a check in card with the room-number and the guest name on it .This card has to be shown at the reception when asking for the key. This procedure is for security reasons. We have computers with free internet use and also free wifi. Our friendly staff is always there to help with requests!

Loved having my own room and the bathroom was spotless! A little off the beaten path, but worth it!

Checking on the heat in the rooms would be a good idea -- we had to speak twice to the front desk to get the heat turned on. More privacy in the shower area would also be nice.

Christine: Thank you for the suggestions. They are always welcome! We do check thermostats daily, but even this is not enough to ensure rooms are warm (or cool) enough for every person. Since several people have access to the thermostat (in most rooms), there is a constant Battle for Thermostat Control. As for the showers, we do have individual shower areas, each with their own curtains. Agreed, it would be nice if each of these had their own changing area, too. This is a potential long-term improvement, though not within the next 2 or 3 years, as it would require a total renovation of all the bathrooms. ~ Mark Schneider, General Manager HI-DC

Very close to the airport, but not close to any other attractions. Food choices here are limited. Price was good though!

A little disappointing. It seemed that there was more hair on the floor AFTER they cleaned the room than before. I also thought that there was a TV IN the room, not just one for the whole downstairs reception area. Breakfast was only so-so; bread and jam and a hard-boiled egg. Also farther from the train station than indicated (10-15 min walk), and metro stops weren't terribly close either (5-10 min walk). Staff was quite helpful when asked for assistance.

The owners were very pleasant and happy to give you a map and info on where to eat, what to see, what bus to take where, etc. Having the bathroom just outside of the room was a minor pain, but overall quite nice. I especially liked having a fridge and TV!

Rooms were on the small side; very warm even with the ceiling fan..... one toilet and shower for 20 people to share! Not worth the money in my opinion.
