Modern, clean, and a great location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. One of the better hostels in Taipei.
Convenient location if you're flying in or out of Terminal 2, (Air Asia). Great for a night, but not an ideal location if you're spending more time in Kota Kinabalu.
Nothing spectacular about this place, but it serves its purpose. Seemed to be understaffed when I visited. Decent location.
Nice comfortable lounge area to meet other backpackers. Good location and helpful staff.
As others have said, it is far from Ubud's centre. The shuttle service is quite limiting I you're trying to do a tour or see shows. The place is quite quiet though, probably best for families.
This is a great spot if you want to be close to the action of Khao San Road, but still get a quiet night's sleep. Friendly staff, decent wifi, and clean bathroom facilities.
The basic huts are just that: basic. No electrical outlet, no mosquito net, (though there is a fan on the ceiling). The bathroom attached is pretty bad though. Mouldy, smelly, and the shower never seems to make you feel clean (salt water?). However, the staff are really friendly, and the lounge/bar area are great to chill out in.
Wonderful if you want to be in the middle of Khao San Road, maybe not the best if you want to get a good night's sleep. Well priced for a single room, and the breakfast in the morning was an added perk.
Easy commute to downtown, and plenty of grocery and convenience stores nearby to help you make use of the kitchen facilities. Helpful staff. Extremely small dorms though, so be patient while trying to move around inside.
Very clean, and has modern facilities.
No complaints about the hostel itself. They have two properties, so make sure you get the right directions. I got directions for one spot, and a map for the other, resulting in a rather long, hot search to find either place.
Very clean, and convenient location. Helpful staff as well.
Good value, but beware that space is very limited there. Easy to get to central Tokyo from the train station near the hostel.
Very clean and quiet. Wonderful bathroom and shower area for ladies.
Wonderful staff, multiple common areas to meet people, and relatively quiet location in Thamel make this a great place to stay.
I arrived late and left early, but the bed was comfortable enough, the shower worked, and the location was convenient.
Free pick up and drop off at the bus station was a surprising bonus. Onvthe down side, the rooms are painfully hot, (even with a fan), and it can get really noisy at night, (but that was probably just because of the party people on their way to Chiang Mai for Songkran). The bed was really hard and lumpy, but the place is spotless, and the staff extremely helpful.
Quiet location, very helpful staff, and great garden to hang out in when you're feeling lazy. Outside the main tourist area, but only a short walking distance.
Free coffee in the morning was nice, but there was no breakfast. Great location super close to the bus station and the night market.
It's a little far from the sights and maun part of town, but if you rent a bicycle, it's much easier. It's a nice clean place.
It's a little bit of a walk from the main part of town, but not unresonable. Good rates for transportation to your next destination.
Great location, friendly vibe. They'll help with travel plans, but it's cheaper to go elsewhere if you're on a tight budget.
My cabin on the cliff was pretty worn down, and had plenty of ants (though that was probably due to the previous tenant). On the plus side, no holes in the mosquito net, and once I managed to get the fan working it made for a comfortable night's sleep. Great location if you're looking for quiet, and sime spectacular views. The owner was super helpful as well.
It's a short walk from the main part of town, which means it's a nice quiet area. Ensuite and breakfast included were great, and wifi average. They charge $1 per day if you want to take the bicycles beyond the town. I had a fan room on the top floor. Normally a fan is adequate to keep cool at night, but this room was always stuffy and hot. It took a while to figure out the trick to unlocking the door: turn the key, push the door handle, and pull the door to you all at the same time.
It's very basic accomodation. The futon mattress on the floor is a bit thin, but the individual fans and mosquito nets make the night more comfortable. Electric socket inside the lockers are a great way to safefly charge electronics so you don't have to constantly guard them.
It's a wonderful place to kick back and relax for a few days. The owners are very welcoming, abd make you feel like guests, not customers.
The two bed dorm I booked was not available when I arrived, so I was put in a four bed dorm and offered free lemon juice when I wanted. They let me check in early, which was nice after an overnight bus and a morning in the heat.
The dorm is quite cramped, a problem made worse by the lack of storage for everyone's packs. There are windows between the dorm room and the hallway, meaning lots of noise especially early in the morning. The previous reviews of bedbugs is sadly accurate. The saving grace of my stay was the staff. I accidentally left my e-reader in the bench just outside, and one of the staff members found it and kept it safe until I returned.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They seemed to have a genuine interest in each person. The location is in the middle of the main tourist area, and it's a short walk to the beach. There are a few different options for the breakfast that is included, which is nice.
It's a good place to meet people, having a young crowd. Helpful staff, great location, and comfortable dorm bed.
The only issue I had was that upon returning to my room one day, I found the door wide open, the staff keys still hanging on the door, and not a soul in sight either in the room or in the hall. Luckily, all of my things were still in the room. Aside from that, everything else was okay.
Wonderful facilities. Good breakfast selection. Very friendly staff.
The place is tucked in an alley, so it can be a little uncomfortable walking through there at night or early morning. Very basic room, but no problems there.
The staff was very helpful. Great place to stay.
The staff weren't terribly helpful, but it's an okay place to stay for one night. Make sure to use the deadbolt on your door; someone tried to open my door in the middle of the night.
The staff (Doris) was extremely helpful. She gave maps and advice on the area, but that is common in most hostels. I did an overnight road trip, and was allowed to leave my luggage there to be picked up on my way to Taipei. After a horriblely cold and wet drive up the east coast, she let me take a hot shower even though I was no longer a guest there. She even gave me a lift to the train station so I wouldn't have to lug my backpack in the rain. She went above and beyond!
Late check-in was a little difficult. Aside from that, the place was modern, clean, and bright. Great location too.
