Hostal Iquisa

San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

Pros: Nice bedroom with basic furniture and comfortable bed (we stayed in a double bed private). Breakfast complete. Good showers. Decent price. Nice owner, she picked us up from the bus station. Hostel offered tours at cheaper prices than we could find in San Pedro's downtown. Cons: Distance from the downtown (about 20 min walking). No market close. No TV. Poor kitchen.

Pros: good location, 5 min from bus station. A nice guy (Mathias) works there. Cons: furniture in the rooms and general cleanliness are not good. Breakfast was ridiculous, only bread (bad) and jam. I had to make my coofee myself.

Private room was good, well furnished and cleaned everyday. Location is good, 3 blocks from Av. Santa Fé. By walk we could reach bares and restaurants in Palermo. Price wasn't expensive, but it's not cheap neither, just correct.

Fica perto da unica praça e mini mercado da cidade. Paracas sofre com tempestades de areia, até o quarto tem areia. O preço é bom mas não há café da manhã. Close to the only square and mini market of the town. Paracas suffers with sand storms even the bedroom has sand. Good price but there isnt breakfast.

Puno parece uma grande favela. Mesmo o centro da cidade estava muito sujo. Pelo menos o hostel possui bons quartos e bom preço. Fica a algumas quadras do porto de onde os barcos do titicaca saem. Puno lookes like a big slum. Even the downtown was very dirty. At least the hostel had good bedrooms and good price. It's located some blocks from the port in which the titicaxa tours begin.

O hostel é novo com chuveiro e camas ótimos. Fica a uns 15min da plaza de armas a pé. Tem mercado e restaurantes locais no caminho. Os donos são muito atenciosos. Compramos os passeios com eles. Hostels is brand new with great shower and bed. Location is about 15min by foot from plaza de armas. There's a market and local restaurants on the way. Manager and staff were very helpful. We bought the tours with the hostel.

A segurança do hostel parecia boa, mas a região é muito estranha. Há favelas perto. Mas é perto do aeroporto. Negocie o taxi, não pagamos mais de 15 soles. Os quartos eram novos e limpos. Café da manhã básico. Hostel security seemed to be ok but the location was weird. It's close to airport. Bargain the taxi ride, we payed 15 soles and 8 soles. Bedrooms were clean with almost brand new furniture. Basic breakfast.

Showers were a little wrecked, water spreads in all directions, impossible to control the flow. Bedrooms could have heating. Otherwise everything was ok.

Nice breakfast including ham, fruits and juice. Good location, near to MacDonalds where you can take buses to Airport, Cataratas and Itaipu. Also, there is a supermarket called Super Max which is a big market. There're 3 PCs for free use. Professional and nice staff.

A nice hostel, everything brand new, building, furniture, etc. Kitchen well equipped and good breakfast, including natural juice and fruits. The price was a little high but worth given the good qualities of the place. The owner is a nice person too.

Hostel Vuela el Pez

Located in downtown, it's very easy to take buses to bus station and the intercity bus to Encarnación. The owner was very cool. I found the hostel almost empty. The breakfast was poor, only coffee, milk, bread and butter. The bathroom is shared which doesnt provide much privacy.

Black Cat Hostel

Good location (downtown), very nice staff. But breakfast wasn't that great, just bread, butter, coffee, milk, yogurt and artificial juice. There's a cat but it isn't black (actually it was white and black).

Very good hostel, some pros: new building, new furniture, good breakfast, 3 PCs for use. Location: 3 or 4 blocks from a subway station and there's a bus stop nearby. Also, there's a grocery store just in front of the hostel. The only con was noise because there's an open space (like a terrasse) and people don't lower their voice after 22:00. Even past midnight some were laughing and almost screaming. I have nothing against party but you must respect others which unfortunately didn't happen.

I liked so much this hostel, nice location (near to bus station, port and the colonia old city), nice breakfast (including fruits), nice staff (they even helped us with first aid kit because my girlfriend fell off the bike). I also recommend use their washing service, very good and not expensive (130 uyu).

Unplugged Hostel Pocitos

The building (or house) was a little old but clean. We had a little trouble in the shower because water was too much hot (yes, hot) and it wasn't easy to regulate the taps to get mild water. Points to the breakfast which included fruits (apple and orange). The Rodó Park is within walking distance.

Very close to Plaza Independencia, i think the location is the best to visit Ciudad Vieja. You can rent a bike for 20 pesos/hour in Bicleteria del Sur and enjoy the Rambla, it's not far from the hostel.
