Great staff and lovely owners - very helpful and full of good advice. The girls working there made a cake and fairy bread for the guests on valentines day. Showers/toilets/rooms are all good.
Cheap bed, good location, nothing special but it's fine just for somewhere to sleep.
Great hostel, comfy beds, helpful staff, a short bus ride to the centre and walking distance to a great neighbourhood to go out in. Biggest dorm room has individual plug sockets, reading lights and privacy curtains for each bed. Only downside is there's no kitchen. Other than that, it's perfect.
Good beds, good breakfast, good price
The staff are incredible here! Big rooms, lots of space even with 38 beds. Good breakfast, great bar with pool tables, good kitchen facilities. Hit and miss wifi connection. Showers aren't the most private but it's manageable. I would definitely recommend staying here =)
Sergio and Dianna have successfully created a home away from home for travellers everywhere. Not your typical hostel - Alentejo Surf Camp has a incredibly relaxed vibe and friendly atmosphere. Great living room and backyard with a barbecue and comfy chairs. They'll pick you up from the bus stop with your bags if they can (which I would recommend - street names aren't apparent so it's not that easy to find). And there's no official check out time which is so much less stressful. Thanks guys!
Amazing hostel - big rooms, really nice common room and kitchen, lovely helpful staff, clean, great location. Would highly recommend it to anyone going to Porto. Affordable too!
Thanks so much to everyone at CCLY hostel for making my time in Catania so great! I loved meeting you all and hope to see you again soon.
Las Musas was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in - great staff, amazing kitchen facilities, good dorm rooms. We had a problem with the air con that was fixed immediately and it's within easy walking distance of everything. I highly recommend the free walking tour the hostel offers - we had a Colombian girl called Erica who did a fantastic job! However the other deals (tapas/ flamenco/ etc) offered by the hostel aren't great - for flamenco go to "Villa Rosa" nearby - unbelievably good!
We stayed in Purple Nest not Red Nest so this review is for Purple Nest,(Although they are similar). AMAZING shower heads, great kitchen, good spacious dorms and lockers. Close to everything, and extremely good value for money. Very clean, heaps of good advice for things to do and a big party atmosphere in the bar/communal area every night. No where quiet to chill out if you're not drinking/ going out though. Also 2euro washing machine with free laundry powder and clothes lines - fantastic!
The dorms were spacious but the bathrooms have a strange set up - multiple showers and a toilet all in the one room with no lock - not great when it comes to privacy in an 8 bed mixed dorm. The 2euro spaghetti and wine nights they organise are fantastic value for money - a good, cheap dinner every 2nd night. Just bring your own cheese, salt and pepper! Close enough to walk to the old town and then main sights. Staff were up and down, some great others not. The "towel" they give you is a bathmat.
Basic room (quite small and a small fan instead of an air conditioner) and basic bathroom/shower facilities for what we paid. A short walk from the main train station and a bit further to the other attractions - we now know of other places that are closer and better value for money. Friendly staff who were helpful.
