Hostel Suites Mendoza, Mendoza, Argentina

This is a very clean and efficient hostel. It is also quite large and conveniently in the city center. We only had two issues with the hostel: 1) the wine tour that they set up for us was pretty disappointing -- there wasn't much wine to taste and the vineyards rushed us through -- and 2) the bathroom was insanely tiny. The shower head was on top of the toilet, so everything got wet when you showered.

I do not understand why this hostel is highly rated. The showers were gross, the bed sheets were extraordinarily worn out, it's not nearly as close to the bus station as other hostels are, the common area is very uncomfortable, you have to walk outside to get to your room (bad when it rains in Iguazu 200 days a year), the wifi isn't available in most of the hostel, and the kitchen was filthy. One positive note is that the staff is very friendly and knowledgable.

The location near the beach and restaurants and shops is unbeatable. Also, the common areas are really comfortable and nicely situated. Bathrooms were the big complaint. There was only one on the same floor as 24 beds, and it was pretty nasty. There are plenty of other showers/toilets at the bak of the hostel, but it's a bit of a hike.

The location of this hostel is perfect for nightlife in Rio. It's a really charming venue that has great views of the city. The staff is accommodating, too. The only downside to this hostel is the higher price, but I'd say it is worth the extra bucks.

The toilets were really gross! The smell was always bad and, after showering, one often felt dirtier.
