The location is about 10-15 minute walk from King's Cross. In the girls' only dorms, the beds are bunked 5x2 but with little space between you. There were 3 toilets for 3 rooms of 10/rm, windows didn't open and no air fresheners. Hand dryers didn't dry well. Bathroom with tiny sinks and no hand soap in the shower room. The shower curtains stick too close so there isn't much room to manoeuvre around the rest of the stall. Kitchen, lounge, 1 pound breakfast and pub are only pluses.

Hi Donna, Thanks for your feedback! If you walk down the stairs there are more toilets and showers. Most of the windows are possible to open, but I will check your room! Glad you liked the breakfast! Happy future travels :-) Kind regards, Laura, Guest Experience Manager

Great location near the Castle, cafe, tourist shops and for meeting tours to Highlands. The dormitory has long walkway between the bunked beds. I had a bottom bunk near the window. The lockers are large enough for small backpacks. Common bathrooms were usually clean with 4 showers and toilets on the other side. Basic breakfast for 1.50 pounds, movie nights and outings/activities organized most evenings. Jamie at reception was particularly helpful with answering questions about booking tours.

I have stayed here before mainly because of the location near St. Paul's. Shower stalls have hooks but could use shelf for storage. Beds seem to have gotten smaller with the change to bunks (but there are no longer the alternating bunks that there were before). Usually 1 or 2 sinks in each room. The dining room continues to serve breakfast (for extra fee). In general, hostel could use more showers and bathrooms on each floor but the building is older than most hostels.

My 1st room had two long term tenants who left damp clothing hanging around, produce under the beds and things piled around their beds. The table to share by the bathroom was overfilled with their household things. The shower had a slatted wooden floor, low ceiling and no window for ventilation. I was switched to a smaller room with bunk beds and twin mattresses (not twin extra long). In this room, there were lockers whereas the 1st room had small hutches. Causeway Bay's rooms larger.

I would say the location and size of the room are the best assets for this hostel. Its proximity to the subway is a plus . The private room with cable are also advantages. But there is a lack of atmosphere to meet other people typical to a hostel. There are no lockers to hold your things until check in time.

The staff were very helpful. I had only a one night reservation but was able to change it to a five night reservation after I found out that Holland Park's location did not meet my needs (thank you, Soledad!). I've stayed in this hostel two previous times and have always found the location to be the greatest asset. I also find it easy to get to know the other guests in the hostel. Thanks again for another great experience!
