Shelia's was a decent hostel, I stayed in a private room with shared bathroom. The mattresses were a little worn in and mine had a large worn groove along with lots of spring action. The location is about 10-15min walk to city centre and bus station. Breakfast wasn't included and had to pay extra 3 euro but they did have deals with a few local restaurants to get discounts. Tara Tea room is down the street and amazing!
This place has a lot of charm being an older townhouse converted into a hostel. The location is pretty sweet close walk to everything being right down on the main strip. Pubs, restaurants, the castle, and the Abby's are only a short little walk from this hostel. Breakfast isn't included but has a fully large functioning kitchen that you can use. Staff is helpful and friendly in regards to giving tips/advice on where to go eat/what to do.
Issac's is your typical hostel with great friendly outgoing staff that like to engage with their guests. They have plenty of activities for guests and are always helpful and provide suggestions for things to do. The dorm rooms were your typical dorms, facilities were good showers hot no complaints. The location isn't on the side of the river where all the bars and some of the tourist attracts are but its reasonably close to everything or you can take the buses.
This hostel is literally a resort!!! It is situated at the bottom of the volcano, just on the outskirts of the downtown area but takes 5-10minutes to walk to pretty much anywhere. The staff were very friendly, eager to assist in our needs. Went with a big group of people tours were amazing, pool was refreshing! Very clean environment, rooms had much needed a/c and the showers were good and hot! The one thing that was weird is the one gate where the parking lot is was left open most of time :(
