Doesn't actually have 24hr reception as advertised.. I discovered this when security made me literally sit on the road outside the hostel upon my 6am arrival, telling me to stay out of the hostel until 11am. There's no actual bathroom, just shower cubicles in a hallway. Rooms are so cramped you can't open your bag & the floor was always dirty. Lockers in rooms were good. Common area was tiny. Terrible value for money.

Spacious rooms, though not enough lockers for everyone. The noises the metal beds make when people move are horrific, though they're comfortable enough. Bathrooms got quite dirty and flooded during busy shower times, but weren't too bad. Excellent location. The blasting of dance music through the hostel reasonably early in the morning is an interesting idea, why would you do that?

Great hostel. Loved the rooftop bar, great for socialising. Rooms were a little cramped & climbing onto the top bunks was borderline dangerous after a few drinks, but beds were comfortable & lockers great. Ensuites with 2 showers & toilets were good & clean. Restaurant was really nice, & the staff were super friendly. Great kitchen.

Really clean, great sized room with air conditioning & a small kitchen. Excellent location, staff were lovely & the hostel's day trips were great. Good atmosphere. Shower flooded the bathroom, but it wasn't too bad.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable with big lockers, though my bed creaked loudly every time I moved. Plenty of bathrooms & good hot showers. Optional organised dinners were great value & fantastic to meet people. Staff were so lovely, & the location is very central. Wifi was reliable & fast. Definitely recommend this hostel!

Mama is amazing, & her morning breakfasts are fantastic. My room was cramped & hot with creaking beds, though the ensuite was clean with a great shower. Common areas were good, but the kitchen was very small. Quite noisy most of the night, but that's to be expected. For a party hostel, they kick you out quite early & do the same 'pub crawl' each night. Wifi was okay, & the staff were friendly. Quite expensive for what you get compared to other hostels in the area though.

really comfortable beds, loved the USB charging ports in each bed. ensuites are so small it's ridiculous & the shower was bad, but the communal bathroom on my floor was great. ridiculously overpriced on the friday night. location is convenient for the stations & shopping, not so much for the night life. common areas are decent. staff weren't overly friendly.

Hi, Thanks for your recent stay and the comments you have left on Hostelworld.com. Unfortunately there is not a lot we could do about the bathrooms, but it is good that you found the bigger once on the corridors. Hope to see you soon again at Generator. Sven Heberling Assistant General Manager

rooms were really well laid out and spacious, the loft was a great idea if you don't have a large bag. shower was good and bathrooms very clean, though only one of each on each floor wasn't ideal at peak times. common area was decent, though the atmosphere was pretty non existent. free lockers in each room & plenty of power points. hairdryer in the bathroom was great! a really nice place.

Location was great, but the hostel had zero atmosphere. Beds weren't overly comfortable, though the rooms were spacious & it was nice not having bunks. The bathroom designs were a bit weird, but clean enough & the showers hot & decent. Wifi was terrible & didn't work in the rooms. With the exception of one lovely girl, the staff weren't particularly friendly. Okay for a short stay.

Amazing atmosphere in the downstairs bar! Sure is right in the middle of the red light district, but security is tight & as a lone female I never felt unsafe or harassed. Breakfast was good & the beds were comfortable with a small shelf, powerpoint & light. The layout of the bathrooms was a bit weird, but they were clean & the showers were amazing. Wifi was decent, as was the kitchen. Definitely recommend this hostel!

Layout of the 10 bed dorm was fantastic, though it was quite stuffy and there were no blinds on the windows. Bathroom was pretty good, but not overly ideal when 10 people were trying to use it at the same time in the mornings. Lockers in the rooms were great. Amazing common area & good atmosphere in the bar. Nice location, near to the festival grounds and city centre & convenient for the station. Wifi was pretty terrible.

Isaacs Hostel

Super convenient for the bus & train stations & not too far from the city centre. Bathrooms had no door, which was a little weird, but were clean enough & the showers weren't bad. Beds were comfortable & rooms were spacious. No wifi in the rooms is always annoying, but there were a lot of decent common areas. One guy was great, but the other staff members weren't particularly helpful.

The lady working here could not have been more friendly or helpful, especially with information on what to do & when my bus did not stop to pick me up. The bed was comfortable & the place was very clean. Really nice sunroom & a decent kitchen. Didn't really meet anybody as my room was empty, but I imagine it'd have a nice atmosphere in peak season. Not too far from the town centre.

Location was great, the shower was hot & the bed was comfortable. The guys in my room were all living there, so not overly keen to be social. The kitchen was okay, though the knives were blunt & there was no communal oil. Bar downstairs wasn't bad, but otherwise the atmosphere was pretty dead.

Huge room with comfortable beds and everything was really clean. Internet was reliable and fast, and the breakfast was decent value. Great location within walking distance of almost everything. Atmosphere wasn't overly great as nobody in my room spoke english and the handful of people in the bar when I went for my welcome drink weren't interested in socialising with anyone else. Really good security and lockers. Some staff were great, others not so friendly.

One of the best hostels I've had the pleasure of staying in. Great location, amazing staff, & so clean! The common room is fantastic & super social, & the kitchen facilities are really good. Great water pressure in the showers, comfortable beds & the free breakfast is quite good.

great location and social atmosphere! beds were comfortable and free bread all day was a bonus. showering was a bit of a display of public nudity, but the water was hot and pressure always good. toilets were old, but clean. no powerpoints in bathrooms and they were scarce and not easily accessible in bedrooms, which was a bit annoying. security was excellent. would definitely stay again!

Anchi Guesthouse & Apartments

Felt like home, not a hostel! The owners are the most amazing people & could not do enough to help, I cannot speak highly enough of them. Though not overly modern apartments, my room was big, air-conditioned & clean, kitchens were well-equipped, bathroom was just fine, & my bed was super comfortable. Quite a walk into the old town but it was beautiful, or the bus was easy. Really close to the bus terminal & port which was great.
