Living Lounge Hostel, Lisbon, Portugal

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The facilities are extremely clean (the showers are fantastic with amazing pressure). There is a in-house chef at the hostel that prepares a meal each night which you can opt into for 10 euros (and it includes wine). A great crew of travelers too (younger crowd). Grab some beers before you go out for 1.5 euros. Daylife, nightlife, transit, is all right there.

There was a large school group there that was very loud at times.

Nothing overwhelming about this hostel, but there aren't too many options in Reykjavik. Generally an older crowd with an odd mix of folks at the hostel's restaurant. The rooms and facilities were clean which is the most important thing to me.

We used this hostel for the night when we were visiting the Grand Canyon. It's about one hour and 30 minutes from the south rim. Great spot to spend the night, kick back some beers and meets some people. The staff is extremely friendly...talk to Elise she is amazing.
