Creepiest hostel I've ever been to in all my travels (to more than 30 countries). Feels and looks like an homeless shelter. The bathroom and shower were filthy and not cleaned on a daily basis. It was always cold and seemed like the heater was never turned on. For some odd reason you could only enter and leave through the back door. Staff were unkind and careless and only available during limited times of the day. Old TV in common room had limited channels, some with bad reception. Stay away!
Needs to be cleaner.
Everything was great at the hostel. However I purchased a Machu Picchu tour from them which included a train ride for part of the way. Instead our group drove hours in dangerous, gravel roads in a van told and told to walk 12km from a check point to Agua Caliente in the darkness and the same distance back the next day. The excuse was that the trains were full, even though we had been charged for the train ride. Was also promised an English tour guide, but it turned out that it was in Spanish.
