They usually had at least one good english speaker available. The girls that work there are very sweet. I did the Mutianyu trip to great wall which I would recommend to book there. It was easy to book the night before through the hostel and was cheap. More on the hostel - unisex shower/bathroom but clean, room was comfortable, good bar/restaurant that was only somewhat social, but I wouldn't come here if you were looking to make friends.

I got a good nights sleep in a 4 or 6 bed room. The fountain outside my window was peaceful and it drowned out any noise. The place itself was peaceful. Only complain was that it wasn't the easiest place to meet people, due to it being an actual cafe and the rooms being in a separate building right next door. The area is really nice and is an area for tourists to walk down. I would only visit Suzhou for one night though.

Miguel is there for you and to join you with whatever activity you are interested in! He went the extra effort while we were there to make sure we had a great time in the low season. Hostel was pretty quiet and it is close to the beach which is nice. I wouldn't get in the pool, but the hammocks and outdoor area is really nice. Can grill food on the BBQ pit.

It's location in Botafogo isn't too bad, a bit quieter and close enough to the subway. During the low season it was very quiet here. Which was fine, although it would be been nice to socialize a bit more. Plenty of large lockers inside and oustide the rooms. Facilities were basic but sufficient. Carlos (owner) was great. He gave a lot of really useful advice and I followed his recommendations with great success several times.

Great breakfast, lockers in room on floor seem to be Brazil standard for hostels, but they can be quite noisy and frustrating to use. windows open in room, maybe reason i had several bites in the morning, again that is very common it seems in Brazil hostels. Not the most social hostel, but more quiet one. Friendly staff and good breakfast, good location - overall good stay.

Friendly staff... i dont know if I'd recommend San Jose in general, but this place is clean and quiet with some good communal areas. Probably a good place to start off. About a 20-25 minute walk to the city center strip/bus stations.

Very friendly staff that were very helpful and honest! I had a blast in Turriabla. Mostly couples staying in Hostel Del Lis, so its great if you're traveling in a pair or a group...you still have a chance to meet some folks though! Very nice terrace and back yard. Safe area.

Great first place for a solo traveler to meet some folks. Its in a good/safe part of town near university area. Supposedly this is a good area to go to a bar or two as well as a solo traveler and remain safe compared to other parts of san jose. very friendly staff. I made friends with other guests... good pool table, I used the kitchen and theres a nice back yard.
