YHA Oxford, Oxford, England
7.4
19th Apr 2016

YHA Oxford was in a great location, but the staff weren't really helpful — when we checked in, they didn't provide us with any information on where our rooms were, what the deal with breakfast was and what time check-out was. The lobby was also constantly teeming with tens of people as there wasn't a common room, and this lent to a stressful atmosphere. What's more, the wifi didn't work beyond the first floor so we constantly had to come down to the lobby to connect to the internet.

Castle Rock Hostel, Edinburgh, Scotland
9.4
15th Apr 2016

Castle Rock Hostel was great for our one night stay! Apart from being in a highly convenient location close to the Royal Mile, it was pretty deluxe for a hostel; we were provided with a towel, soap and shampoo. Public facilities were clean and the room was nice and tidy, although it would probably suit someone who only wanted their room as a place to sleep because it was quite small. All in all a good experience.

St Christopher's Village, London, England
8.0
9th Jan 2013

St Christopher's Village's location in Borough was ideal - it was close to two metro stations (Borough and London Bridge) and a short walk away from sites such as Borough Market and Tate Modern. It was sufficiently clean and had plenty of facilities such as a communal bar, cinema, chill out room and locker spaces for bags should you arrive earlier than the check-in time of 2pm. The staff were extremely friendly as well (except for the last girl at the counter who checked us out).

Hi Matthew, Thanks for your feedback! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you found our location ideal for London! It's also great to know that you were able to take advantage of our facilities as well get to know our lovely staff. Apologies for the last girl however, is there anything in particular she can do to improve her service? Kinds Regards, Patrick St. Christopher's Village Team.

Astor Queensway, London, England
7.1
31st Dec 2012

Our room was spacious for a six-bed dorm and had its own sink which was useful but overall, we found the facilities to be insufficient. There was one toilet downstairs which was constantly blocked and only one shower upstairs that we were made aware of. That aside, the staff members were very helpful and the location is great - short walk away from both the Queensway and Bayswater underground stations.

The Fort Boutique Hostel, York, England
10.0
29th Dec 2012

We absolutely loved our stay at the Fort Boutique Hostel - situated above a cafe/restaurant on Stonegate, it is a short walk away from everything and on an extremely pretty and lively thoroughfare. We were extremely lucky because we had the entire floor to ourselves. The apartment itself was very well-heated, clean and comfortable. The staff were always incredibly polite and helpful, especially when they helped us carry my heavy luggage to the second floor. All in all, would highly recommend it!

Hatters at Hilton Chambers, Manchester, England
10.0
26th Dec 2012

Hatters at Hilton had great facilities, which I only realised once I went to other hostels. The bathroom was clean and extremely well maintained with three or four shower cubicles and two bathrooms - almost an anomaly in UK hostels. There was free wifi, which although was not functioning on the first day, came good on our second day. It's a short walk from the shopping strip and nearby restaurants and staff were most friendly and accommodating. Overall, a really good hostel that I'd recommend.
