B&B Citta' di Giulietta

Verona, Italy

A short walk from the city centre so well located. Needs a larger sign as it was difficult to find, particularly if you have a car as there is nowhere to pull over for a good look. If it were more obvious it would not be difficult as its right on a corner by the bridge. Main complaint is that the facilities supposedly include free parking. This was not the case and caused a lot of time wasting and searching for small change.

Located within 20 mins walking distance of the centre, it is pleasantly out of the way whilst not being inconvenient. Perhaps a little tricky to find but out SatNav didn't help. Beware incredibly creak floorboards!

Lovely place, clean, good location just off the main square and a good breakfast too. Only real issue is the slightly difficult check in process that relies on knowing when you'll arrive. Not really a big deal but potentially frustrating.

Although slightly out of the way the location is fantastic as you get exceptional views of the lake and is not far from the main road around the lake. It is not simple to find as the sign seems to lead nowhere, persevere and you will find it at the end of the path! The rooms are decent and the bathroom is fine. The dinner deal is also a bargain.

Lovely place to stay with a view over the city. A little far out in that you have to get the train into town but the station is a short walk away and it's only a short trip in. If you are driving it is definitely cheaper to get the train as parking was very expensive in the city. The room was clean and cosy. Overall good value for money especially if you don't mind staying out of town or a looking for somewhere cosy but close.

More hotel than hostel but no worse for it. Our room was ice hockey themed which made for fun decoration. The hostel is well placed to explore Garmisch although it's about a 15 min walk from the central area. Clean all around and welcoming staff. The breakfast is €6 but good.

A decent place to stay but a little out of the way. A short walk will get you to a U-bahn station but it still takes some time to get into the centre. Clean rooms, interesting decor, very good breakfast and good value for money if you don't have a car. The car park has tiny spaces and costs €13.50, something we weren't made aware of when we booked.

What you expect from a YHA hostel - clean, efficient, lacking in character, slightly overpriced. A good bar and cooking area though, plus the breakfast was decent. Location was a little too far away from the main area of town but only a 20 minute walk or a simple drive. You can also catch a bus which is very easy and €1.90.

Great fun hostel, very good value for money and the attached bar is excellent. The main issue is the showers requiring a walk through the bar to get to. Good location 5 minutes from the centre and parking facilities are useful. A good included breakfast too.

Well placed to see the sights whilst being slightly out of the way if you don't want to be right in the thick of things. Included breakfast was decent too.

Great place to stay near Asakusa area. Within walking distance of good sights and shops and next to a well connected subway line. Helpful staff and lots of information about the area and events on offer in the main area. Sociable atmosphere with reasonable rooms and clean facilities. As a bonus it is next to an excellent Hiroshima style okonomiyaki restaurant!

Backpackers Miyajima

Hiroshima, Japan
80%

Well placed for people who are visiting Miyajima, less practical for non-JR pass holders (or stingy types) as the cheapest method to Hiroshima centre is a long tram ride. Still good spot overall and the tram is not so bad nor is the JR train that much more expensive. Facilities are good although the 7 minute showers will be annoying for some. The concrete decor is a bit shabby but the social atmosphere makes up for it.

Great alternative to one of the hotels on the Strip. Cheap, decent rooms and good security. The staff are helpful and always keen for a night out or just to advise on what to do. Cleanliness was fine with the rooms being cleaned everyday. Free pancakes on offer each morning too. The walk to the main resorts was about half an hour which is not ideal in the sun so bus or car are advisable. The bus can take ages though so don't expect to get anywhere soon.

High standard of cleanliness, very helpful staff (though not the best at English) and a fantasic location by the river in Suzdal. When looking for it, go past the foot bridge for about 100m, the building is not well sign posted to if you go past the houses, you've missed it!

Excellent hostel, well placed, great roof top bar with a view and slightly more out of the way than others. One big issue though-we booked a bus from Guilin to Juijiang with them and got an awful journey. Though not directly the fault of the hostel,I do not expect to pay 300RMB for a 14 hour journey for which I clearly had no place on the bus. I "slept" next to the driver and my frind was jammed in the corridor fighting over space with someone else lacking a bed.

Well placed for an ascent of Emei Shan. Good food. Andy was great fun though some of his advice was a little dubious i.e. how long the hike would take and where to stay etc. Room smelt a bit damp but wasn't too shabby-the air con dealt with that. All in all a decent place to stay.

Great place, good food, helpful staff, decent fdacilities and useful information on the city and the area. The room smelt a bit damp but that was not an issue once the air-con was on. Well placed to get about in the city too. Only real issue was confusion over whether we were going to Mix or Lazy Bones-this review refers to Lazy Bones despite the heading.

Owner Comment (Hide)
You felt dump is because of the typical Chengdu summer's climate, hot and humid. But it will be much better after this month (July and August actually are the worst months in Chengdu due to the extremely humid weather). Because all the room en-suites are in Lazybones, so you was transferred to Lazybones because you booked it. And it's described on hostelworld.:) Thanks again, Chengdu Mix Hostel Team
