An above average HI hostel with very friendly and helpful staff. The location was fine - only a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. The rooms were desolate with only 2 plug sockets - not ideal for today's requirement for regular phone/ipod charging. Good place to stay overall.

Great place to stay, friendly staff and fantastic location beneath the castle. Generally clean with good and cosy facilities, the only gripe was that the shower temperature was quite variable. Very comfortable too!

A very tidy but slightly too clinical place to stay. The atmosphere was lacking but the facilities and location were good. The balcony has a decent view and is a good place to enjoy a Kolsch or 2.

A short walk from the city centre so well located. Needs a larger sign as it was difficult to find, particularly if you have a car as there is nowhere to pull over for a good look. If it were more obvious it would not be difficult as its right on a corner by the bridge. Main complaint is that the facilities supposedly include free parking. This was not the case and caused a lot of time wasting and searching for small change.
Located within 20 mins walking distance of the centre, it is pleasantly out of the way whilst not being inconvenient. Perhaps a little tricky to find but out SatNav didn't help. Beware incredibly creak floorboards!
Lovely place, clean, good location just off the main square and a good breakfast too. Only real issue is the slightly difficult check in process that relies on knowing when you'll arrive. Not really a big deal but potentially frustrating.
Although slightly out of the way the location is fantastic as you get exceptional views of the lake and is not far from the main road around the lake. It is not simple to find as the sign seems to lead nowhere, persevere and you will find it at the end of the path! The rooms are decent and the bathroom is fine. The dinner deal is also a bargain.
Lovely place to stay with a view over the city. A little far out in that you have to get the train into town but the station is a short walk away and it's only a short trip in. If you are driving it is definitely cheaper to get the train as parking was very expensive in the city. The room was clean and cosy. Overall good value for money especially if you don't mind staying out of town or a looking for somewhere cosy but close.
More hotel than hostel but no worse for it. Our room was ice hockey themed which made for fun decoration. The hostel is well placed to explore Garmisch although it's about a 15 min walk from the central area. Clean all around and welcoming staff. The breakfast is €6 but good.
A great cheap option for staying in Fussen and using as a base for local exploration. The rooms are clean and colourful and the facilities are fine. The staff are very helpful but are not always present.
A decent place to stay but a little out of the way. A short walk will get you to a U-bahn station but it still takes some time to get into the centre. Clean rooms, interesting decor, very good breakfast and good value for money if you don't have a car. The car park has tiny spaces and costs €13.50, something we weren't made aware of when we booked.
Stayed here before and thought it was good enough to come back to! Well placed within a 5 min walk of the central areas, decent rooms, good breakfast, nice bathrooms and helpful staff.
What you expect from a YHA hostel - clean, efficient, lacking in character, slightly overpriced. A good bar and cooking area though, plus the breakfast was decent. Location was a little too far away from the main area of town but only a 20 minute walk or a simple drive. You can also catch a bus which is very easy and €1.90.
Great fun hostel, very good value for money and the attached bar is excellent. The main issue is the showers requiring a walk through the bar to get to. Good location 5 minutes from the centre and parking facilities are useful. A good included breakfast too.
Well placed to see the sights whilst being slightly out of the way if you don't want to be right in the thick of things. Hyde Park is just outside, buses run along Oxford street and the central is 5 mins walk. Double bed room was a bit small but otherwise decent. Staff could be slightly more friendly. Included breakfast was decent too.

Great place to stay near Asakusa area. Within walking distance of good sights and shops and next to a well connected subway line. Helpful staff and lots of information about the area and events on offer in the main area. Sociable atmosphere with reasonable rooms and clean facilities. As a bonus it is next to an excellent Hiroshima style okonomiyaki restaurant!
Takayama is small so the hostel is well placed between the station and the centre of town. The facilities and staff were good and the rooms were spacious. The main issue was the poor air con and having to walk up lots of stairs to our room.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is twenty mins from the centre but close to the station. Kanazawa is small so this isn't a problem. Dorms are good and well laid out. Only gripe is that the shower is not great-its next to the cooking area!
Very good hostel, well located near the Gion district of Kyoto. Helpful staff, clean rooms and facilities and convenient location make it an excellent place to stay.
Well placed for people who are visiting Miyajima, less practical for non-JR pass holders (or stingy types) as the cheapest method to Hiroshima centre is a long tram ride. Still good spot overall and the tram is not so bad nor is the JR train that much more expensive. Facilities are good although the 7 minute showers will be annoying for some. The concrete decor is a bit shabby but the social atmosphere makes up for it.
Location was good-easy to reach the JR network and from there anywhere you might want to go. Good area close by too, the electric city is within walking distance. Helpful staff and a clean hostel too.
About 20 mins walk to the town but otherwise a good place to stay. Pricewise is it good value as breakfast is included and the facilities are decent.
Fine for a night but not the most well kempt of places. Definite need for more security as far as the dorms are concerned though. The connected restaurant/bar was great though.
Good location in the Miraflores area, easy to get a bus to other parts of the city and walking distance from lots of good restaurants and bars. Helpful staff and travel service with an excellent bar.Could be cleaner in general but not a major issue.
Great alternative to one of the hotels on the Strip. Cheap, decent rooms and good security. The staff are helpful and always keen for a night out or just to advise on what to do. Cleanliness was fine with the rooms being cleaned everyday. Free pancakes on offer each morning too. The walk to the main resorts was about half an hour which is not ideal in the sun so bus or car are advisable. The bus can take ages though so don't expect to get anywhere soon.
Owned by the same crew as Orbit Hostel and with largely the same vibe. Great social events and helpful staff with plenty of organised sightseeing activities on offer. Could be cleaner and the location was decent-close to bus stops and a short drive from anywhere you might want to go.
A hostel adequate for budget travellers. Rooms could be cleaner and the place did look a bit shabby but the friendly staff and excellent social calendar/events made up for it. There were often free meals and drinks on offer and several parties each week. Location was decent; well connected to the bus network and within walking distance of several attractions.
Very good location right in the middle of the action. Helpful staff and a good, clean dorm. Main issue was that the air conditioner didn't work so the room got extremely hot at night making it hard to sleep comfortably.
A good place with helpful staff and a great location. There was a nice communal area too. The included breakfast was a bit unexciting-toast and jam. Would definitely stay here again.
Decent place for a bed but toilets were pokey, the rooms were clean but drab and the whole place was generally quite unexciting. The best feature was the included breakfast which was excellent.
A decent if fairly unexciting hostel. Good rooms and facilities. Breakfast was fine-there are waffles in town anyway! It's a little too far from town i.e. a 20 minute walk to the centre but thats not really a problem. Its very useful if you come in a car.
Great place to stay in St. Petersburg. Very helpful and friendly staff, 24 hour access, central location, kitchen and a decent sister cafe/bar. The cleanliness is a little bit lacking but doesn't detract from the stay. The staff are keen for a party too. Very convenient spot to be in and don't worry about the sheets being too short for the mattresses.
It was a bit empty when I visited but I'm sure things would get more exciting with more people. High standard of cleanliness, very helpful staff (though not the best at English) and a fantasic location by the river in Suzdal. When looking for it, go past the foot bridge for about 100m, the building is not well sign posted to if you go past the houses, you've missed it!
Excellent hostel in a fairly central spot in town. The main street is less than a 5 min walk away. A little bit tricky to find but once you're there it's lovely. The owners are always willing to help and the place is kept very clean.
A bit hidden away but actually very easy to get to from the train station. The mysterious 10 floor yellow and pink building is actually much closer to the bus stop than you think. As you get off the bus it is almost immediately on your left, nest to a 24 hour shop. The place itself is cosy and the owners are friendly and helpful.
Godd location near some bar streets and Western shopping centre. Also in walking distance of the metro. A bit far from the centre but not too much of a hassle by bus or metro. Our dorm was well Air conditioned and the staff were helpful.
Excellent hostel, well placed, great roof top bar with a view and slightly more out of the way than others. One big issue though-we booked a bus from Guilin to Juijiang with them and got an awful journey. Though not directly the fault of the hostel,I do not expect to pay 300RMB for a 14 hour journey for which I clearly had no place on the bus. I "slept" next to the driver and my frind was jammed in the corridor fighting over space with someone else lacking a bed.
Well placed i.e. not fully amongst the crowds. Cosy little place with helpfull staff and a cool dog. Main issue was no A/C and no mosquito net so we were eaten alive. Had to lather ourselves in DEET and sweat the night out to get any sleep at all.
Generally good value for money. Clean room, decent A/C and well placed to access the National Park.
We only spent 6 hours there but the room was fine. Breakfast was excellent. Thne shower was non functional/extremely difficult to get the hang of.Decent value for money though.
Well placed for an ascent of Emei Shan. Good food. Andy was great fun though some of his advice was a little dubious i.e. how long the hike would take and where to stay etc. Room smelt a bit damp but wasn't too shabby-the air con dealt with that. All in all a decent place to stay.
Great place, good food, helpful staff, decent fdacilities and useful information on the city and the area. The room smelt a bit damp but that was not an issue once the air-con was on. Well placed to get about in the city too. Only real issue was confusion over whether we were going to Mix or Lazy Bones-this review refers to Lazy Bones despite the heading.
Good spot and helpful staff, could have been a bit cleaner though.
Great stay, a little hard to find though. Very clean.
