The hostel owner is extremely nice, helpful and organized. The three-story bunk beds however are a bit of a pain to get up and down if you are on the top level.
The hostel is in an excellent location and is a great place to meet fellow travelers. The staff seem a little too interested in their own affairs to really be interested in the guests, who even have to make their own beds. There are lockers and safes, but anything left out will probably be stolen. The rooms open on to a central courtyard whichis a good place to party and make friends, however makes it very noisy if you want to sleep early. The airconditioning is great.
The hostel was very close to the airport which was just what I wanted. However the internet that is promised in the rooms cannot be accessed in the dorm. There was no hot water and the shower was filthy, the bunkbeds are frail and shaky and the mattresses are thin. It's fine for somewhere cheap to spend the night as you are passing through guayaquil.
