great hostel, if you want to meet people come here.... and the rooms are pretty good too.
The door was very difficult to work out. If you don't have a drain in the bathroom floor, at least invest in a decent shower curtain or something... water went everywhere and no towels provided to even mop it up. The sink leaked as well, so ontop of the water coming from the bathroom, oily pasta water went everywhere, and in general wasn't nice to walk around. although the stove worked :)
Overall a decent stay with nice staff.
Good value for money. Staff were extremely helpful. Gave great reccommendations on where to eat etc. Only downfall is that it's not really a place to meet people. This hostel is designed mainly for tour groups, so if your planning to find some friends to go out drinking with... forget it. Restuarant and bar are also overpriced, but appart from that I'd say my stay at this hostel was worth while.
overall a good stay although a tiny bit overpriced. Dorms were spacious and the ipod thing was cool. the bathroom sink was smashed though. The staff were nice, although i would've appreciated being told that some clubs were 21+. Thats a pretty important piece of information. went to 2 clubs (watergate... forget other) and both couldn't get let into.
One of the best hostels we've stayed in. The dorms are really spacious and the privates all have a really cool theme to them. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Definately recommend!
in general a good stay, although the double bed didn't have the right sheet sizes and was annoying when they came off in the middle of the night. there's a lot of facilities.... but they're old and half the time not working properly.
lady at counter wasn't helpful, and the bag of sheets only had 2 pieces out of 3.
if your going to the lake district to hike then its great, although as far as youth hostels go....... this isn't a youth hostel more like cheap accomodation, there was some guy celebrating his 89th birthday.
overall this stay was great. Facinities where clean, and they had 2 big kitchens for you to clean in. Although a lot of people smoked in the sharehouse and it made it almost impossible to fall asleep which was really annoying since we were both sick at the time. it ruined an almost perfect stay and could have been easily prevented with self-closing doors to block the noise.... and smell of pot.
overall not a bad stay, but the room was very dirty.
Overall a great hostel regards to value for money. The staff were friendly, and was rather cheap.
We booked a private roomwhich is more like a dorm room with a bit more space. Its in an apartment, which they don't give you the key for, and the room didn't have a lock on it where we were sleeping. and in order to lock your stuff up you have to pay. The showers always ran out of hot water. Had free kitchen though.... but nothing worked. coming back at 4am, the recepsionist told us they'd lost our key. When we asked for a refund he told us to sleep in the stairs.... simply don't stay here!
liked the 12pm check out, and accepting our accomodation on the day a few hours before we arrived
we only stayed here overnight and pretty much just slept the whole time as we had to catch a plane the next day. the security card things are annoying. the receptionist who was working around midnight seemed stressed with the amount of work which he had to do, and as a result was extremelly rude to another guest who needed his help. our check in took around 20-30mins which was way too long since we needed as much sleep as we could. the aircons in the room were great, and so was the atmosphere
Near to the train station, decent budget hotel.
lady at the check in was rude when we asked why my card was charged in australian dollars, when we specified to be charged with euro`s, only a few euro transaction fee but still annoying. the safe`s didn´t work in the room. and the beds were very noisy, to move around in. but apart from that the aircon was nice, and the breakfast was diverse.
The atmosphere was good, and the bar connected wasn,t too bad either. Although for the price you pay it makes the hostel rather average, especially considering the state of the bathroom. I had to spend the whole time ducking under the ceiling... and i,m not even tall. that with the communal showers making you push a button every 5secs to put the water on.... and everybody walking past can see straight in.
Great hostel, probably one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Staff were very warm and welcoming and we're very helpful with advise on where to go... felt very homely and less like a hostel. Kitchen was big and clean, and the bathrooms were good too. The people staying there were all very friendly, great place to chill and meet people. Definately recommended.
Didnt like that they didnt offer ,mixed dorms, my boyfriend and I had to sleep in seperate rooms which got annoying. Staff werent unfriendly but they werent super friendly either. No atmosphere, mainly families with young children stayed here.

Great value for money. Excellent location and had a really good atmosphere, everything was brand new. Only downfall is that you had to pay for a padlock, and the chargers connected to the bed didnt work. But appart from that the hostel was great, would definately recommend it.

The location was great, the staff were friendly and the food at the restaurant was good. However, the hostel itself was an rather old, run down and not very hygenic. The lockers didn't have locks and were full of bedsheets, the bathrooms were... terrible. The showers didn't have hot water, and the toilets overlooked the restaurant beer garden with plenty of windows for people to see through. Overall visit the restaurant not the hostel.
