Great hostel, clean, great bar, noise from bar not heard from rooms. Unlessyoure in the big dorm beside the bar. Tourist office onsite, laundry done same day, very professionally run. Late check out is the best! Great gringo food too. Evenm cans of Guinness :-)
right beside the bus station, big plus. But its ages from anything else. One of the receptionists spends her Time cuddling her boyfriend behind the desk, and gets annoyed with even the most basic questions..... The man in charge is Very nice, but charging you to leave your bags somewhere safe on chechout day leaves a bad taste
Fantastic... Clean, friendly, Spanish classes anddiscount on ur stay. Dave and Daragh so friendly and helpful. Greatkitchen, great barbeque nights, lovely atmosphere. Easy to meet people, there'sa TVroom with lots of movies... Cafe beside the hostel has biggest cheapest lunch ever! Great bars for nights out too. You will definitely get a nights sleephere because the showers are hot, the beds are so comfy, and there's no "partying" after 11 inside, make sure to go to the happy hour at florin bar!
Great hostel, ten minute walk to main plaza and all shops etc. Restaurants, shops and newsagents outside the door. staff are really helpful and speak English and French. Tours organised with Nick's adventure tour company. French owner is really lovely. Beds are comfywith extra blankets if u need them. Laundry was a nice surprise- u pay to fill the machine and it's huge so u can share with someone to save and cause its near the rooms U can keep an eye on it and get urstuffdry and packed in oneday
No atmosphere. Dirty. No help for tours/information...one staff member, a nice lady, but no one on reception to helpwith anything...bathroom smelled, bed was broken :-(
A great hostel, great beds in spacious rooms- i stayed in Celeste .Near to beach,(10 min walk) shopping centre (5 min walk) bar kitchen hammocks sun loungers....everything you need plus, Anderson was super helpful, and cute!
Too many people with not enough common space. Kitchen staff are rude.
Breakfasts and check in/outs are very friendly. Barman is a lovely guy. Near to beach and buses. But way too expensive at world cup time, some of the reception staff were either asleep/too busy partying. But mostly the bedrooms let the place down. Too many people in small rooms, no curtains so streetlights streaming in, and the mattresses are all plastic so you feel like you're in a mental hospital! Every time someone moves in bed it makes a noise. So don't book if a nights sleep is a priority.
Perfect hostel. Clean, friendly, secure, great location, kitchen, small bar, dorm rooms are the best- air con all night, curtain, under bed locker, own light and power source :-) bathrooms clean and new. Heaven after the boat up the Amazon, or after your jungle trip! Book your trip with the hostel too its well run and good value!
No one really seems to work here, just various people hanging around on the couch who you have to interrupt from chatting or watching TV to ask a qt. None of whom speak English. Check in included no info.. Herve was there for 15 minutes and in that time did help me get my stamps organised and book a tour. I was not told where to go for it, or that the guide spoke no English. Drom room had cobwebs everywhere and sheets smelled.organise your own tour easily in the town, and stay somewhere else.
Really great hostel in good location and helpful staff. Great meals for sale here too. The only improvement which could be made is with regard to the weather! Most travellers to Bogotá are hit with a huge drop in temperature, this meas having to walk through a cold wet courtyard to get from your dorm to the rest of the hostel a real pain. Meaning shoes have to be worn too. The main room too is quite cold, and even though the dorms have duvets, I still could not sleep without hoodie and socks on.
Best hostel in Colombia. Even with water shortages the hostel was always spotless. Great staff, location, everything! You can make your own food in the well equipped kitchen and eat on the balcony overlooking the square! Fantastic. Movie nights are possible too as they have a huge blueray collection.....Tours easily booked...ATM next door, lots of places to eat nearby. They sell beer too. My favourite town and hostel in Colombia!
Bathrooms need improving, sinks in all the rooms I saw were hanging off the wall. Kitchen is filthy with ants crawling all over the counter. Bathrooms not cleaned every day.other hostels manage to stay clean through the wat shortages so this is not an excuse.
Worst check in ever. Five people behind the desk, still took about 15 minutes to check in, no details on tours, nightlife etc. No air con during the day in your room, and Cartagena is hot! Otherwise a good hostel
I left Serrana feeling sick. I am allergic to dogs and the dorms smelled of dog, which isn't surprising as the dogs were allowed to sleep in the dorms, the staff laughed off any complaints about this. The fact that I could not take a hot shower for the three days I was there didn't help and so I spent a miserable time there...I had planned to use my time in La Serrana to organise my onward journey but the wifi didn't work for the entire time.so that too was ruined.
Great staff, great place. Big enough to meet people and small enough to get to know them. Could probably do with an extra pair of hands around the bar.... All in all though everything you need form a hostel, WiFi,food, near cafes and bars, provide tours, clean bathrooms, security and a happy hour :-)
Dog urinated against my bedroom door. Bedroom beside reception is not actually separated by a full wall so you can hear and see everything that's going on all night.no attempt to quieten the hostel after midnight. Bathrooms dirty and badly built. Bed clothes dusty and unwashed from previoususer.rain came through the roof when it rained on to the communal area. Unreliable WiFi. Saving grace- met great people. It was cheap. Breakfast and dinner provided was a real bonus.
Very home-y and welcoming. Tim is really helpful and makes sure everyone gets to know each other...recommend it :)
Great hostel ... we stayed in Petra for one night and Abrahams is SO much nicer! Great bar and communal area... Even a free Hebrew class thrown in ! The Dead Sea tour was perfect too... And the free tours are great too. To be really picky - No lockers in the room and a little noisy at the weekend although the free earplugs went a long way :)
Lovely atmosphere and helpful friendly staff, right beside nightlife, the markets and a short walk to the beach....Bike rental station nearby too. Near to lots of cafes bars and restaurants, but also great for cooking own food - eating in and having a few drinks in the outdoor area and meeting people :)
lots of work to be done to bring this place up to standard...nice staff - best of luck with your new project, wish you all the best!
Great place, great staff, great rooftop area and breakfast :)
beautiful view, great pool, comfy beds- no bunkbeds in dorm - shame about the shower facilities though...have to walk throught he common area to get to the showers, there is only two, and they are so cramped you are showering almost on the toilet! no curtain or shower tray to separate you from toilet - ugh! get an ensuite room
Lovely hostel in very handy area. Fantastic roof area and lovely food for great prices. Breakfast on the roof was great too...make sure to take the free tours also. A great place to use as a base..

Stayed in mid september so the place was "quiet" but still had enough people to fill the bar. The room was lovely, the place was clean, and we got a great welcome from reception and a free transfer to the airport. The only thing that let the place down was no lockers.& the male staff who couldnt tell the difference between girls who were happy to chat over coffee, and girls who wanted to get wasted. felt like 'fresh meat' being delivered to them. The American guy - Spanish looking was appalling.
great beach. hostel empty so perhaps whens its full its easier to overlook its many faults. Undisputedly in need of lots of maintenance -gardening, painting ,filling the empty pool & removing rusting vehicles from garden. rooms not cleaned. felt obliged to eat dinners even tho had not put name down for them. areas flooded after rain. no nightlife whatsoever in hostel or surrounding area. bar had no diet drinks ran out of wine. magdalena let us all know when she wasnt happy, which was often.
Make sure to have all your details of where the office is BEFORE you go to Bari. I planned to log in to WIFI upon arrival at mcdonalds at the station to download the directions but you need an Italian SIM to use McDonalds WIFI .. I arrived after 10pm so tourist office was closed, cust service was closed and none of the shops around the v dodgy area could help me - i ended up in the police station trying to explain in Italian!. The hostel itself needs painting, new kitchen wear and new oven.
Good clean comfortable hostel in a great location.
Nightmare. I was given a campbed in a living room of a 2 bed apt in a derelict building. My bed was one of 4 beds in the LIVING ROOM. There was no security, not even space to put my bags down as my bed was in the walkway to the bathroom! . Bed was lumpy. No help or advice given on the area. ended up knocking on doors in the area to find somewhere to stay. I checked out within a few hours. he took the full night price &deposit. DONT DO IT. THIS IS NOT A HOSTEL. IT SHOULD NOT BE ON SITE. Disgusted
Great place, cannot recommend highly enough...booked in for 1 night, stayed for 7! Great for meeting people, for providing info on the sites, and for having something on in the hostel each night. STAY HERE!
Had a great time, very good value for money...definitely recommend for anyone doing Tomatina!
ask for a room in the new section! the beds are sooo good :)
Lovely hostel with a good vibe. Only drawback is the location at the top of the hill, if youre staying in the rooftop room which I did, so many steps!! But the room was lovely with a great view...What took away from my experience was the fair haired receptionist. She didnt even show me round when i checked in. Her English was not good so she couldnt help me during the stay either, but she was the only person on the desk. She then didnt return my deposit on check out :(
By far the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Really cool vibe. Great decor. Amazing location. Beautiful bathrooms, lovely staff, free breakfast and hot drinks all day. Like a boutique hotel really, and what an amazing price! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. What I really loved, was how chilled out it was even though it was right in the cool part of town- Bairro Alto, so all you had to do was turn a corner for 300 bars, but you couldnt hear a thing chilling out in tv or bedroom :)
Great for meeting people. Rooftop bar very cool. Great location, and unbelievably friendly staff. Depends on your room if it got noisy or not, but if youre out till late yourself that wont matter. Recommend it.
