My stay at Carpe Noctem was quite surprising. It is not a typical hostel, rather like staying with friends. A bit chaotic, but the atmosphere is really cool and if you don't know what to do in Budapest. The staff will provide you with a daily activity plan, plus organized night out.
Hostel is organized quite well and the staff was really nice, but the location of the hostel is not really good. Walking distances are quite fine, but the windows of the dorms are facing a main street, including a tram line. So this fact and only a small vent in the room didn't leave much room for sleep. Either you sweat or wake up constantly, when a tram comes or some noisy car.
My stay at Hobo Bear's was really nice. The hostel is very small and cozy, making you feel at home in an instant. Same with the staff, they always try their best to make you feel comfortable or give you travel tips. Also prepare to have some nice croatian liquors and beers and exchange stories :). The only drawback was the heat in the dorm. A vent at the ceiling would be really nice :). Will definitely come back, if I go to Zagreb again
