Great hostel in a great place, I had an excellent time there. Everything that you want and a good size - not too big, not too small. Do the tour to the Sierra Nevada National Park. My only complaint is that the luggage room is just an alcove on the side of the common room with no supervision or security. It would be very easy for someone to walk off with your backpack.
A reasonably comfortable hostel in a good location. A poor rating for security because although the staff on the front desk are good with making sure only guests go upstairs, the doors to the rooms never seemed to be locked. Also, there was no system for making sure you collected only your backpack from the luggage storage. It would be easy for someone to walk off with your backpack.
Your typical hostel crammed into the top of a pub in London. Good to stay there if you are going to something nearby and you can certainly do worse. But there are better options in London - particularly if you are looking for somewhere to stay long term. The rooms are small and the bunks are triples, with some of the beds looking like they are smaller than a coffin.
Typical hostel above a pub in London. Good if you need somewhere to stay for the night if you are going to something nearby, but there are better options in London if you are looking to stay somewhere long term. No kitchen and the rooms are small, but I've stayed in more cramped hostels in London. Bathrooms were not that clean. There were no lockers available in my room because others had not handed back their keys, but the baggage room was secure and you could only take your own bags.
Great option if you have to go to Birmingham to get to somewhere else, which is the only reason you need to go to Birmingham. I stayed in a single room and it was very good value.
Good value hostel. Clean showers. A 5 minute walk from the Royal Mile, so a little bit quieter. But not to far from the action.
Only option in town.
Great hostel if you need a long term base in London. Big clean rooms with under bunk locker. Good kitchen and large lounge area. A 10 minute walk for the tube, but right next to Hyde Park.
There are lot's of Scout meetings going on, so it has a poor atmosphere unless you want to feel like you are on a school camp. Lots of bunks fitted into small rooms.
Very clean and good value single room. A little distance out of the center of town. I was on a bike so this was not a problem. Excellent bike lockers so great if you're cycling the Loire.
Small and dingy rooms. Only hostel option in town and it will do the job for a few nights.
