This was a lovely riad, perfect for our needs. On arriving, we were given two copies of a very useful map of the area to orient . At first we were concerned that without air-conditioning the room would get too hot, but (even in August) the wind in Essaouira was enough to cool the building pleasantly. Breakfast was super and the terrace was a great place to relax and read and had a great view of the sea.

Great riad, very close to the main square. Staff were very accommodating, the room was comfortable and had air-con, and the breakfast was lovely.

Pancakes were great and the room was fine but the air-con was loud and cold and remained on despite repeatedly asking for it to be turned off! Would be nice if the hostel had their own map print-outs of downtown Chicago as well as the Wicker Park area.
Thanks for the review! We will work for efficiently towards improving the requests you have mentioned, but it was wonderful having you and we hope you visit us again!

Unfortunately it was raining in Sanya when we arrived, so the tents weren't available. This meant we had to pay extra for the 6 of us to sleep in the hostel, despite us having booked on hostelworld.com. Having said that, the girls who were looking after the hostel were really great. They spoke very little English, so conversations were done using Google translate on their laptops, but they were very good at booking taxis/massage and recommending bars, beaches and mosquito repellent.

The staff were really helpful and helped us book a trip to the Illuminations show (with taxis there and back), bike hire and a taxi to Guilin airport. They were really good at helping us to decide what to do in the short space of time we had in Yangshuo. Definitely recommend making friends with the resident puppy, the cutest creature in all China.

Staff were excellent - really helpful and their English was perfect. They helped us even when we missed the bus tour they had booked for us. Within half an hour they had organised another one. Hostel was really good value too. Only drawback was that there were loads of 'gap yah' kids knocking about. Go out of season to avoid.
