The location and the ambiance were both fantastic. However, there weren't very many showers, and the showers were not well maintained-- for example, the one closest to my room had a handle that was stuck, so the water was burning hot and could not be adjusted for temperature. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good and much more filling than what you would typically get at a hostel.

Location was very close to King's Cross, one of London's major transportation hubs. I was slightly concerned about the security in the bag storage room, since there were not individual lockers and the room could be accessed by anyone with a key card. Staff were friendly and helpful. I rated facilities as "poor" because the beds are VERY close together-- as in, there is no space between them. A thin partition on half of the bed is all that separates you from a snoring stranger :P

Thank you for your time leaving us such an insightful review :) You are right - luggage room is shared so you shouldn't leave any valuables there, we have lockers in "The Dock" where you can lock your valuables for a small fee or simply ask reception team - they can keep your laptop or camera behind the desk. We hope that "snoring strangers" didn't spoil your stay at Clink78 and we will see you here again :) Safe travels!

Fantastic hostel! The staff were all friendly and knowledgable, and the map of the city they gave us (produced special by Wombats) had all kinds of useful information on the back. The hostel was located close to many of Vienna's main attractions, including the Museumsquarter and the Opera House, as well as Hofburg palace. Free walking tour, cheap breakfast, and free lockers were all great amenities. I can't recommend this place enough.

Facilities were generally decently clean, but it could get a bit noisy due to partying in Wenceslas Square-- the noise came right in our window. You also had to climb up at least four flights of stairs to get to rooms (we had five), which can be difficult if you have lots of bags to carry. Overall, though, the atmosphere was friendly and laid-back, and the location was great other than the late-night noise.

Facilities (especially bathrooms) were spotless and atmosphere was safe in the rooms. The police paid us a visit in the middle of the night, still not quite sure why...
