Bodhi Tree

Kolkata, India

So much thought has gone into putting Bodhi Tree together. The rooms are decorated with the work of local artists, all have aircon, soft mattresses, plenty of blankets should you need them, TV, security deposit boxes and the bathrooms are clean too. Breakfast is included and it's totally delicious. Staff are friendly. The location is good, close to a metro station but off the main road so no noise. Definitely stay here if you can!

Fine for getting to the airport for an early flight. There was noise all night from people in the hotel, not sure if these were other guests or staff but we didn't get a very good night sleep here.

Hotel Taj Plaza

Fine for a night or two. Quite a lot of staff just loitering around trying to get tips, however the location is great and its good value for money. Go elsewhere for breakfast, I ordered boiled eggs and they were definitely off.

This hotel is located near Agra Fort Railway Station and you can hear trains at all hours of the day and night as well as plenty of noise from the street. Despite being close to the station we had trouble finding the place, as did local rickshaw drivers. The room was okay; large, comfortable, clean and the showers were good and hot. Staff are pretty unfriendly however and there was some 'confusion' over the bill at the end. Decent value for money but I wouldn't stay again.

Vinayak Guesthouse

Jaipur, India

Probably the best hostel I stayed in during my time in India. The Vinayak Guesthouse have got it spot on; staff are warm, friendly and helpful - we were made to feel really welcome - rooms are large, clean and secure, breakfast and dinner is available should you get hungry and there is a comfortable common room with computer/internet access. A great place to stay if you are visiting Jaipur.
