Perfect if your staying in Sandakan for a few days. Its right next to a shopping mall and the sea front. Although not much to do in Sandakan, this hostel provides info and help with anything you need. Room is clean and wifi strong. Ensuite available. The cafe on the third floor serves a great pumpkin curry from fresh

Agga Guest House

Yangon, Myanmar
80%

Agga is a good place to stay if in Yangon due to it's location, It can be a bit of a ball ache to find though. But once settled-in in Chinatown, the tourist things to do are only 30mins walk away, but i recommend a taxi due to the heat. Facilities are very basic, but we had the double room which had great aircon but not much light. Fine for the money we paid. Wifi Internet works fine too.

Great hostel, great to get away from the usual bangkok bull. Stay here for a Khao San Rd free atmosphere. But you can always get a taxi if you do want to go. AMAZING STAFF X

This hostel is small and cute, with traditional/modern japanese style furnishings. Bryan and Shuka are extremely friendly and do their best to help and give you tips/advice for anything you need. Only one downside was the wifi was hit and miss quite a lot of the time. Would defiantly recommend this hostel and Thank you again for your help.

Though we can't say we are a ryokan we do provide the same atmosphere and are happy to hear that guests find our futons and tatami so comfy. Apologies the wifi router was playing up last week.

This hostel is in an amazing location. Rent a bike and see the whole of Kyoto! They have huge lockers under your bed. The only bad thing is if your a bit chostrophobic then i wouldnt recommend a pod as they feel small and stuffy

Hostel 64 Osaka

Osaka 64 is a great place to stay in Osaka. We stayed in a Double Room. Facilities were great, and very clean. It is easy to find and has a great reception desk with someone that can help you through the day time. Would defiantly recommend it and stay again if we returned. Overall a good stay for a couple, not sure about solo backpackers.

No effort into personal remembrance which makes the staff come off as a bit 'arrogant' but i think its an american thing. Locals seem to stay as well as international travellers which is slightly off putting, as some of them look homeless. The rest is all good Good lounges Good bathrooms Good facilities Good lockers 2 decent pillows Good wifi Good free tours and organised stuff to do each day/night

Samesun is in a good vanouver location. This was the only really decent thing about the hostel. The beds in my four bed dorm had 2inch foam instead of a mattress, i assume all the beds are the same as i heard more than hand full of people moaning about the same problem. The staff were quite grumpy and the cleaners anniying. The bathrooms are also in need of a serious updating. I wouldnt stay here again unless i really had to. The common area was alright

If i return to San Fran again I will defiantly stay here again. The hostel is near everything you need, including a conveience store across the road. It also has a great basement underneath with a 'party room' and a movie lounge and a good kitchen. My stay was very pleasant. The staff could have been a bit more interactive and enthusiastic

Samesun Venice Beach

Los Angeles, USA
66%

Samesun is a funny little hostel, it's quirky and weird. I stayed in a 7bed dorm with en-suite. The bed was okay and had clean sheets. The bathroom was clean but the shower only seemed to have a fixed temp of 'cool'. The hostel could of definatley been better organised as they could handle many check-in's, but they did say they had just got a new system. It's in a prime location next to the broadwalk but also next to all the prime weirdo's from venice, but they have a good security door.

Just a typical base, I only didnt enjoy the hostel as it's one of those huge ones and has rooms like mine which was an old storage room, with no window and no space. Stay at Nomads.
