My partner and I booked a double room and were put into a tiny room with bunk beds, he is over 6ft tall and the room and bed was only just as long as him. Room was clean and staff were really nice however room was directly onto the tiny common area and people being in their until the very early hours kept us awake which was unfortunate after our long journey. At the end of the day it was a clean bed for the night with free wi-fi and served it's purpose for a place for us to crash for the night.
Room was clean, although a little on the small side for two people. Not sure I enjoyed the sharing of the bathroom when the people inthe next room could just pop their head around the shower curtain if they wanted too, wasn't the kind of shared bathroom we were used too. Good kitchen facilities however everything across the hostel is very dated and old fashioned, staff friendly and helpful and location was good.
Loved this hostel- One of the best we stayed in across the North Island. great kitchen facilities, friendly staff, good clean and spacious room and we managed to use the pool whilst the sun was out which was a great bonus after a day travelling in the car! Thankyou Berkenhoff
The Grand hotel which is not so grand! Small rooms, no great views, very old fashioned decor but a good location!
Perfect location, nice, comfy and clean rooms and bathrooms with a large socialable lounge area for those who want to use it. Staff were really lovely and kitchen was well equipped.
Easy to find from airport using the trains, extremely clean shared bathrooms and room, although rather noisy as next to train station and on a busy road. Staff extremely helpful with everything altthhough I would say that it is a little over priced for private rooms considering it's location to main areas of Bangkok.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful for all of our stay especially when we arrived early in the morning after an 9hour train journey. Allowed us to have a snack and make use of hot showers for free when we arrived back from our 2day trek in Sapa . Rooms very clean and great location to the town. The only issue was the huge keyrings they have on the room keys, very inconvienient as they wont fit into a pocket, but you could always leave your key behind each time you went out if you wished.
Staff couldn't of been more helpful, They were all fantastic with helping us to arrange trips, providing us with a room to sleep in when we arrived early in the morning and late at night. Staff were brilliant. Rooms were clean although a little TLC could be given to some of the paintwork, but overall the most friendly hostel we have stayed in throughout the whole of Vietnam.
