Positive comments: Excellent location next to underground station, 10/20 mins to Westminster/The City. Bar downstairs is a nice place to hang out. Staff is friendly. Negative: We tried to check in at 11am but couldn't before 2pm, but when we came back at 7pm the room still wasn't cleaned! After it was made for us, it still wasn't very clean. Bathroom was moldy (but hot shower was good). Beds were too small (didn't fit with 1,85m). A lot of noise from the bar downstairs.

Chill House

A beautifully renovated colonial house, away from the tourist areas, but centrally located. Close to subway and shopping mall/cinemas/supermarket. Owners are superfriendly. Rooms are spacious, clean, and some of the doubles are simply gorgeous with a rustic but modern appearance. Not a party hostel, but very sociable and nice place to relax after going out in busy BA. Kitchen was excellent.

Felt at home here, super friendly owner, good kitchen, heating during the cold winter, rooms and bathrooms were very clean, nice place to meet other travellers.

Nice simple hostel. Owners are super friendly, surprised us by picking us up from the bus station without notice, and explained everything about the bodega's and other activities around Cafayate. Good kitchen, wifi, etc. Spanish, French and English spoken. We were there during a cold winter period, must be even better in summer!

Quiet family-style hostal. Perfect for couples who are looking for a comfortable and reasonably cheap private room. Staff is very friendly. Big tasty buffet breakfast. Hot (solar) shower. Good Wi-Fi in rooms. Main plaza is about a 10 minutes walk.

Good location, few minutes to main square as well as to San Pedro Market. Very friendly staff. Dorms and showers are cleaned every day. Safe luggage storage for treks. Communal areas could be better, we didn't find it a very nice place to hang around. It seemed like a bit of a party hostal but there was not much going on. Breakfast was basic but sufficient.

Good location in colonial city, clean, nice restaurant/bar area. Now the negative: the included breakfast was terrible, I got two small pieces of stale bread, a juice and an average coffee. After that I was still hungry so I got something in town. Towels weren't included and cost $1,50 for rent. Hot shower didn't work. Staff wasn't attentive - we asked if we could extend our stay and they didn't come back to us on that. Locks on the room doors are insufficient, especially on the inside.

The Secret Garden Quito

Very well organized hostel, lots of facilities including very good Spanish lessons (thats why we stayed a week here). Good location for old city, secure and a nice free city tour. Room was a bit dark but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately no good WiFi in the room. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. The only downside is the price - it seems a little bit too expensive compared to other hostels (in and around Quito), especially if you have dinner here.

Excellent hostel if you want a relatively cheap stay in Midtown Manhattan. 15 minutes walk from Times Sq, Central Park and less than 10 minutes to Grand Central and subway. Our private room (shared bathroom) was simple and clean, but could use a revamp. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Excellent location in a quieter street down Wuyi st. Friendly (English-speaking) staff and good & simple rooms, but the hostel doesn't have much more to offer than a place to sleep.

The room (4-bed dorm) was very clean, with the biggest bunk beds i have ever seen in a hostel. A good place to meet travellers and the owner/staff can help you very well with booking bus/train tickets and tours.

A little bit further out of Yangshuo than we expected (15-30 min. walking) this hostel has an excellent quiet location in a rural village. We especially liked the owners for their warm welcome and good help. They have really good mountainbikes for hire and can arrange any tour you want. Rooms are super clean, spacious and have everything you will need.

Didn't feel like an hostel, more like a simple hotel. The lounge area didn't have much character. However, the location was excellent, good value for the money and the room was very clean, spacious and well maintained

The room (4-bed dm) was clean, had good airconditioning, and was quiet. The courtyard setting of the hostel is a nice touch, and the staff are helpful, good english-speaking and fun. Although a bit hard to find, the location is excellent; it is near a bus stop for the train station (bus 603), and all the sights within the city walls. As many people only tend to stay for 1-2 days, it is less a place to really meet fellow travellers than you'd expect in a hostel.
