Loki del Mar

Mancora, Peru
89%

Self contained backpacker-on-the-sea superhostel. You don't have to leave the compond at all - and people literally don't. Great facilities and good food mean its a nice place to wait out the inevitable hangover. Can seem like Mancora is the Loki- which who knows, maybe its not?

The Secret Garden Quito

A little overpriced and a touch dated. Not bad but not the best of the bunch anymore. Door to door shuttle to the genuinely excellent Secret Garden Cotopaxi was the highlight for us. Nice view from the terrace also.

Beautiful location just a charming 20 min walk from salento. Great breakfast and the option of signing up for group dinners in the evening. Clean, warm beds, helful staff and stunning views. Great coffee tour at Sacha Mama organised from there. Only complaint would be directed at Blackie the dog and I don't think he was under anyones control!

Geo Hostel

Medellin, Colombia

Shining hotel style accomodation with breakfast included. In one of the best sections of the 'poblado' with lots of lovely cafes bars and restaurants close by. Our first (of 4) hostels in Medellin and we only realised how good we had it once we left! Slightly noisy would be an only complaint and definitley not a gringo hostspot if thats what your after.

The Dreamer Hostel

Santa Marta, Colombia

Nice hostel a little way outside Santa Marta. Air Conditioned dorms, nice pool and plenty of showers (cold though). Construction taking place at present which makes sitting by the pool less relaxing than you might expect and no kitchen. We were given a discount but didnt make up for having to buy all our meals in the restaurant.
