Andarilho Oporto Hostel

Overall good hostel and certainly worth it, but there are others that are just even much better and even cleaner. I have the feeling that it used to be a great hostel once, but that it's sinking down to an average level. One guy of the staff was acting like he was a guest himself.

Hostel 2300 Thomar

Like, GREAT hostel. Really perfect, brand new. You can eat off the floor. I don't have any negative comments at all, but only a suggestion to perhaps give breakfast. Anyhow, Tomar is cheap so you can easily buy breakfast. Great, friendly hosts. You should talk to them, because they can give you loads of suggestions for things to do. Tomar is not as deserted or small as it seems.

Good: Excellent breakfast. Bad things: We did not have a key available for our own room, since the other couple had received the only two available keys. After breakfast in the morning, we the door was locked. There was no one at the reception at first, and when there was, we still had to wait a half an hour till the right person got there with a key. Also, they almost messed up with our payment. They said we booked for 2 nights, while our confirmation by hostelworld stated only 1 night.

Very quiet B&B, for us it was perfect. There was almost no one there, except for maybe one person who we didn't even see. Very relaxed atmosphere by the staff. Also, we appreciate that we could call them very early to open for us, because we arrived very early in the morning by night bus.

All in all an average hostel. Not extraordinary, but good enough for the budget-traveller. And it´s still one of the cheapest hostels in town. The guy keeping the hostel open during the day tends to open dorm rooms without knocking... Also, bathroom is not really practical, since the shower is there too. So if the shower is taken, you can´t go to the bathroom. But okay, basic facilities are available.

We had an excellent stay in your hostel, I felt very welcome and at home. Don't mind the location at all, I walked back and forth to Porto centre all the time (about 20 mins). Gaia has a bit a different atmosphere than Porto itself, less touristic, more local. The hostel is small, but very luxurious and entirely renovated. The garden is FAN-TAS-TIC!!! Held a supersiesta on the upper level :D. Well done Joao & Martha ! ;) Tip: locks for the lockers? But I didn't ask because I felt safe enough.

Thanks Erika. We also enjoyed having you here. We hope you feel like home. About the locks, we have at the reception, we just have to ask. We hope you come back, one day!! all the best.

MUST be the cleanest hostel in all Budapest... It's for the traveler who wants to sleep well, not a party hostel. Small and very manageable, but still cosy. The free coffee and dvd-possibilities are much appreciated. Thank you for the pleasant stay!

Despite the very friendly staff, not a nice stay. Floor was cement with a carpet on it. Room was part of a rebuilt hangar or something. Didn`t dare use the electric stove because it was so filthy, as were the pots and pans (the kind of filth you can´t just wash off). The worst were the cockroaches. On day one only saw a few, but day 2 there were quite a few more. positive note: every tuesday a traditional hungarian folk performance in the bar. Very impressive. Cosy bar and open atmosphere,
