This hostel was not very sociable and no one was ever in the bar and there wasn't really an inviting common area. There was no AC in the room and it was incredibly hot. The location was good for being a few minutes from a metro stop and there was a great beer hall across the way. Other than that, I would say to book somewhere else.
The hostel is just a little off the beaten path but easy access to U-Bahn or S-Bahn or buses. The brothers that run this place are absolutely amazing and their mom cooks the breakfast. Great hot shower and awesome wifi. The bed was super comfortable as well. Very informative about things to do and how to get anywhere. This is a new hostel and I think it has a lot of potential to be really awesome!
I was in a 4 bed dorm and the room was VERY small. You could touch the bed across from you just from reaching over. There was almost no space for anything if anyone had a big bag of any sort. This is like any other Generator though with a well oiled machine of running a hostel. Events planned every night and the location is unbeatable.
Great location and a great hostel. TONS of rooms and awesome beds. The bar was great and there were two options of breakfast to purchase depending on your budget. A full concierge desk with a list of things to do and tickets that you can buy. A really AWESOME hostel in my mind!
This is in a great location and the staff is absolutely wonderful. The blankets are a little scratchy and there is only one shower if you are not in the 10 bed, but otherwise rally great. The wifi would go in and out and you can hear everything in the entire place. Don't stay here if you like to sleep in late. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!
On the website it says if the room is ready you can check in early. I was there at 1:00pm and was told to come back at 2:00pm at checkin time. I was back at 1:50pm and still had to wait until 2:00pm. It put a bitter taste in my mouth. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. Rooms were clean and had powerpoints next to the bed. I was in the common area for about 10 seconds and everyone was on their phone. For the price, you could get a couple of people together and split a hotel room.
This was the first hostel I ever stayed at in the US as I usually stay in hotels. The building was great. The rooms were spacious. The bathroom was clean. There was tons of common space with chances to meet people. Super close to the subway. Helpful with questions about what to do and where to go. Great place.
Awesome hostel! If you don't like to party then this is not the place for you. Drinking games and ping pong all day long. Great friendly environment and very close to the main strip of bars and restaurants. The showers and bathrooms were clean and always had hot water. Incredibly comfortable beds and a great place to stay.
Perfect hostel for a quick overnight in Arica. Close to the bus station and close to a fantastic market. Breakfast is cooked by the owner and apparently varies daily. Comfortable beds. Hot showers. Great wifi.
Best hostel ever! Amazing hammocks to lay in and relax. Fantastic atmosphere. The staff is the BEST! Easy to walk to from the bus station and close to an ATM and grocery stores. Probably the best hostel in Chile and maybe South America. Perfection!
The beds are a little short if you are on a bottom bunk. The breakfast is really good with these delicious eggs. Nice size kitchen and great wifi. Overall an okay hostel but there are a ton in the area to choose from.
This hostel was absolutely amazing! The location is fantastic and walking distance to all the bars and clubs in Bellavista. I didn't plan to go out as much but ended up out almost every night. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is great. The beds are comfortable but a little shaky. Good shower. Good breakfast. Awesome free Friday night bbq and just overall amazing place. This is a must stay!!!!
I was only here for one night but the hostel suited me just fine. The room was incredibly hot as there was no AC and only just a fan. The breakfast was very simple and the tables were full so I had to eat in the living room. The location is near some great places to eat and a wonderful tasting room, The Vines, and about a 30 minute walk or 30 peso taxi ride to the bus station. The staff was okay but not overly friendly.
A can to/from the bus station is 50 and not 40. A few second walk to the lake. An easy bus ride to the beaches. 10 minute walk to town. Hammocks to relax in. Some event being promoted every night. A huge dvd collection to chose from. Rooms are a little small for the amount of people in them. Comfy beds. Not enough bathrooms. You can bring in your own booze and they sell it there. Most of the staff was awesome! The owner is AMAZING. Cutest dog ever lives there! Kayaks and bikes for rent.
Just a few minutes away from the beach and close to a little supermarket. Pool is open all day and all night and someone is always in it. The beds are really noisy which is annoying but they are the beds of Che Lagarto. The key cards don't work anymore so the doors are permanently unlocked. Huge lockers for all your stuff and a very laid back staff. The AC works to perfection which is super important in this heat.
This hostel is still very new but has a lot of potential. The walk to/from the metro is short but on a KILLER hill and near impossible with luggage. The staff is fantastic! There was no AC in my room (10 bed dorm) but apparently that is being installed shortly. There is a restaurant and bar downstairs with a menu of burgers and more burgers. The rooftop has an enclosed couch/relaxation area which is really great. There is a pool on the roof that is not yet filled but will be great when ready!
Amazing hostel! The beds are FANTASTIC and there are outlets in the lockers. The shower is really nice and hot. The kitchen is awesome and the beers are cheap. The walk to the metro will give you a little workout with the stairs but once you are there it is easy access to everything. Amazing grocery store a few minutes away and lots of cute bars and restaurants. The Wifi works everywhere and has a strong signal. Overall, one of the best hostels I have stayed at around the world.
It is hard to judge a hostel when you stay at it over NYE. However, this location is AWESOME! One block from the beach and free champagne on NYE. The staff is absolutely amazing and so much fun!!!!! The beds aren't very comfortable and the bathroom REALLY small. Great breakfast. Cool common area and bar. Very helpful staff when it comes to tours and buses and taxis.
Located just a few blocks from Copacabana beach and easy access to everything. The housekeepers are the nicest women I have met while traveling and work very hard at what they do. My issue was the beds were triple stacked which I didn't read anywhere before booking. The water didn't work for half the day but the AC always worked which is very important in this heat. Small kitchen but you can buy food if need be. The bathroom needed to be cleaned more often.
I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas here and the staff made everyone feel like they were with family. On Christmas Eve they offered a HUGE dinner to bring everyone together. Free drinks every night to bring people together as well. Great pool. Awesome kitchen. My 10 bed dorm had tons of space. The staff is super friendly and always available to answer any questions or have a drink with you. Easy access from the bus to get to the falls or bird park or over to Argentina. Great hostel!!!
Great location just a quick walk from the bus station. Great bar and pool area and an option for dinner every night. Breakfast has a variety of fruit and bread and hot food. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. The hostel feels a bit like a family. AC is excellent and a must in the hot weather.
Best hostel bathrooms I have ever encountered. Huge showers and super hot water. Nice common area with a book exchange and DVDs. Great outdoor patio. Breakfast is a bit boring but is what is expected from a hostel. Reception helps with booking tours and can exchange money. All and all, a lovely hostel.
This hostel was okay. A little far from the main attractions but a nice walk. Nice kitchen. There was a GIGANTIC cockroach in my room that crawled on my bed. The beds are a little squeaky but what bunk beds aren't??? There is an all female bathroom along with the mixed bathroom which is nice. Kitchen is a good size. A pretty average place.
The staff was fantastic and really fun. They booked my bus ticket and exchanged money right at the desk which makes things a lot easier. The bedroom doors don't lock but you have to buzz in/out to get in the door which is nice. The bathroom floor was always wet and the wifi barely worked in the room. The common area was really chill and the rooftop terrace was great.
The hostel is very close to the port and the bus station and absolutely walkable. I was in a 4 bed dorm that had some mold on the walls but at least it had AC. There is only one bathroom to share between two rooms which is a little annoying but serves it's purpose. They sell beer and wine and water so you don't even have to go to the store. The hostel does the job for a few nights in Colonia.
The ONLY reason this is not 100% is because the hostel is just a little far from town. This is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in! It feels like you are in someone's home. The kitchen is fantastic. The living room/common area is perfect. The pool is great. There is a pool table and tons of hammocks. You can rent bikes and buy food from the hostel. Drinks are the same price as in the store. The staff is absolutely fantastic and make you feel right at home! And there are really nice dogs
Quiet hours are 2:00 -10:00 but not enforced. There is loud music playing all night. Half the lockers in the room were broken. It rained one night and there was a leak in the roof that soaked a few beds in the dorm. The upside is the location in regards to the bus station and the staff which is fantastic. The hostel is definitely a party atmospher and you need to be ready for that if you want to stay here. Otherwise I would absolutely stay somewhere else.
Great hostel in a great location in Palermo. Easy walk to Palermo Hollywood or Palermo Soho and close to the metro line. The rooms are very very clean and the staff is great. Tons of tours and activities to choose from. The breakfast is just a normal hostel breakfast of bread and cereal. Shower pressure is great with hot water. Pretty chill atmosphere and a great place to stay.
This hostel was absolutely gross! There was mold on the walls and the room was damp. There was no organization of the bed assignments and I never felt clean. There were holes in the walls and I felt like the stairs would break at any moment. The only good thing about the hostel was that they accept credit card and the location in San Telmo is right by the market.
The bar is amazing and the staff is really great. The atmosphere is super cool and the location is easy to access from the bus or a quick walk from Kings Cross. However, there is NO space in the room for baggage and the shower has to keep being pressed to stay on.
AWESOME location. Great common room. Huge kitchen. Super friendly. 100% suggest this hostel to anyone traveling to Dublin.
Great bar area which is also one of the common areas. I was in a 18 bed dorm and there was still plenty of space and I didn't feel super cramped. There could be more showers for the amount of beds there are and the showers could be a little cleaner. Staff is amazing. The bar prices are pretty good. The beds are actually super comfortable.
Great location. That is about all this hostel has going for it. The power went out in the room for hours leaving no fan, or AC or hot water. The floors were super dusty. Anyone could walk in or out of the rooms. I left this hostel and checked in to a bungalow a few doors down.
On the opposite side of the square from most bus stops so expect a far walk or to pay a little more for a taxi. There were 5 week old puppies when I was there which was FANTASTIC! People were able to walk through our room to get to theirs and there were no lockers. I didn't like that aspect at all. Staff was nice. Breakfast is included. My bad for the price.
Words do not do justice for this hostel! It is like you are staying in an apartment with a couple of roommates and feels incredibly comfortable. Tomi is by far the best hostel host I have ever encountered and will walk you to the bus station or ferry port or a great restaurant just to make sure you are taken care of. I booked 2 days and stayed for 6. He hosted a bbq on the beach which was amazing and even did my laundry! Absolutely amazing hostel and a must stay at place in Saranda!
The bunk beds at this hostel look like they should be a triple but they are only a double so there is PLENTY of space which is great. The outdoor garden and bar area is lovely and relaxing. The breakfast has hard boiled eggs which is a plus. No lockers or safes in the room. There is a cute dog always running around the hostel as well. The staff is knowledgeable with the bus schedules and things to do in the area and can help tell a taxi driver where you need to go.
Amazing amazing location! Literally in the middle of old town. The staff is super enthusiastic and very helpful. The tours are easy to arrange and the transfers are very beneficial. The beds are a little squeaky but what are you gonna do? There is an option for a home cooked meal with more food than you could ever eat! Great hostel!
Amazing amazing hostel. It felt like I was staying in an apartment. I was picked up and dropped off at the bus station which was absolutely amazing. Small store directly next door for groceries and about a 4 minute walk to the heart of old town. Great tours also provided through the hostel. A+++ in my book!
Great hostel. Great location and great staff. The only issue I had was my room was right off the reception and incredibly loud very early in the morning. Other than that, great stay!
The hostel is in an AMAZING location. There is a buzzer/key card to get in which is very safe. Lockers under the bed that are huge. The only problem is the bunk beds do not have railings on the top bunk and are very squeaky. Other than that, the staff is great and there is a great outdoor terrace and great kitchen area. Breakfast is included as well.
Let me start by saying that I booked two nights and ended up staying for 5. The hostel is in an amazing location. Home cooked breakfast every morning and use of the kitchen all day. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the AC is great. The staff is very nice and someone is always around to ask questions. They are super laid back and the lockers are HUGE!
The staff here is incredibly helpful. The only thing is my room was the room to the terrace and people walked in and out of it all day and the door was really squeaky. Other than that, great location and the owners are very nice.
I was suggested to stay here by a friend. The beds are comfortable, the AC rocks and the free breakfast is what is to be expected of a free breakfast. However, what I did not realize is that families and children and what not were allowed. There were screaming children in the common area and even my headphones didn't block them out. That in itself, ruined the experience for me. However, had I read about the hostel before booking, I wouldn't have booked based on that. Otherwise, great place.
This is exactly what it is advertised to be. A party place. However, we were in a tent and it was dusty and hot and absolutely loud as hell. The bathrooms were disgusting to the point that bins would be overflowing with toilet paper and flies were everywhere. The pool was great and the food offered was pretty good and cheap. There is a free shuttle from the port which is nice. Also, if you don't want to party, the place is pretty dead after about 11pm so you can day party and then chill out.
I had friends staying at another hostel and they were able to walk in and out as they pleased to our hostel. The pool is nice but incredibly small. There is a vending machine in the kitchen with snacks and beer and cider but it closes pretty early. The rooms are nice but very small (I was in a 6 person) and there is nowhere to put your luggage. There are lockers to lock up valuables. The shower always got the floor soaking wet which was sort of gross. Not a bad place, just not great.
This is a party hostel. However, after 9:00pm the hostel is DEAD because they are located above apartments and must observe quiet hours. If you are looking for an option to party or stay in, this is the place to be. I was sick basically the entire time I was here and I was able to sleep and rest and get better. The kitchen facilities are great and the dorms are okay. There is AC which is key in the heat. The showers are a little dirty but they are huge. Overall, good place to stay.
This hostel is absolutely amazing! The rooms are fantastic with great little kitchenettes so you can cook absolutely anything. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. The pool has a great view of the sea and has lawn chairs to lay out on. Some of the beds ARE NOT bunk beds which is incredible. There is a shuttle to take you to/from Old Town that runs until 3:30am. I would stay here again any time!
The staff at this place is absolutely amazing! The location is unbeatable just outside the walls of Old Town. I booked a 6 person and was put in a 5 person which is always a nice upgrade. Towels are provided and they will even switch them out if you are there for a few days. A little pricey but worth it to save in transportation costs to and from the city.
This hostel is a little bit out of town but very easy to get to. The beach at the hostel is absolutely amazing. There is a full kitchen and common room with almost anything you could possibly need. There is a store a few minutes away and the staff is very very helpful. Great place to stay with a group of friends!
The hostel was incredibly close to the beach and provided beach towels as well as regular towels. As a backpacker, towels are one thing that change everything for me! The hostel has quiet hours which is nice, but you aren't even able to talk in your room without being shushed. Other than that, everything was absolutely awesome!
The bunk beds did not have a railing for the top bunk and there was only one ladder for all 4 sets. They were basically renovating when we were there and we were on lockout from about 10am-5pm. The staff was friendly and the room was cheap, so I guess you get exactly what you pay for. Nice thing though is a great kitchen and two computers if needed.
The hostel is walking distance to some amazing cafes and most importantly, the Eiffel Tower. The metro stop is just a few blocks away. The rooms are quite small but very nice and the beds are comfortable. The shower is actually pretty great. Also, beers are pretty cheap and the morning breakfast is included. A great place to stay.
The staff is absolutely fantastic. It is a little annoying that check in is also the bar and sometimes they were a little under staffed. The rooms are large and you can rent a locker if you want. Free breakfast and pasta dinner everyday.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dorms were clean and well laid out. The lockers were a little loud because they are metal but it is nice to have a locker provided. There is a great terrace to sit on which is great when the weather is nice. You get a welcome drink for 1 Euro during the stay as well. I was there when a very large group was there and found that people were not very social in the common area. Walking distance to the city center and steps away from a train stop!
The staff was incredible and very friendly. The hostel environment is more like a hotel so it is not very social. The room set up is fantastic and feels very private. The bears are across the street which makes it easy to visit them and the hotel is right off a train stop.
The guys who ran this hostel were absolutely amazing and made our stay very enjoyable. Thursday night was free Pisco Sour night and we had a ton of fun! We had a private room with two beds and a private bathroom which was fantastic. There was a computer and free wifi and everything was absolutely wonderful.
