Sapa Hostel

Sapa, Vietnam
77%

Hotel is in a lovely building, good location, nice atmosphere, owner is very friendly. Nice (but simple) breakfast included. The hotel is fairly basic (no heating in rooms or rugs so very very cold during the day and at night. Not terrible value for the money considering Sapa is quite touristy, but have definitely found better value for money elsewhere in Vietnam. Put a heater in each room & this place would be excellent. Tours were on the pricey side so definitely negotiate or shop around

This hotel is simply amazing. Not just because of its great location and lovely clean facilities but because of its excellent staff! The ladies at waterfront hotel go out of their way every single day to ensure you have an amazing time in Hue; from the free train station pickup and the free welcome smoothie, to them cooking us free dinner when we were flooded-in, the whole stay was excellent. What's even more is the fantastic value for money!! A real gem of a hotel!

Great atmosphere, great location, really friendly staff who really try to engage with all the guests to get them involved in as many fun things as possible (free wine and cheese nights, nights at the pub etc). A great place to stay in Dublin. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice hostel, clean and good location. Could do with soap in all the bathrooms as opposed to just ladies or just guys. The common area lacks atmosphere as it's really just a room filled with people on iDevices being watched by the reception desk. Could do with some music or something during non-quiet-time. Staff are friendly though and beds are comfy. Would stay here again/recommend if it was for a short stay only.

Amsterdam Hostel Centre

Amsterdam, Netherlands
74%

Pros: good location, comfy beds, clean Cons: most of the cons stem from the fact that buildings in Amsterdam are so narrow; no real common area, just a few tint seats in reception, not enough showers to service the whole hostel (showers are over toilets so using one occupies the other) Despite all this the hostel still manages to have a nice atmosphere about it. Definitely not a bad option for the price. If you want better amenities you're looking to pay a lot more

Definitely the cheapest accom option on the island. Rooms are hot, dusty and tiny though and need shelves or more hooks (showers need hooks too). Room are relatively mosquito proof (a huge bonus on mosquito island). Good wifi. Bar makes nice pizzas. Didn't experience any of Peter's aforementioned douchiness, he was giving away free shots one night. Bar is fairly expensive, however so is the whole island. Caye caulker definitely the cheaper island if looking for Belize on a budget.

Pros: Good location opposite the beach, bathrooms were cleaned regularly, cheap & good meals at restaurant. Cons: No hot showers for the duration of our stay, some staff are friendly but others look like they´d rather stick pins in their eyes than help you, kitchen is very dirty and basically non-existent, bed/mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on.

Hostel has a nice vibe, nice common areas/TV room. Bathrooms need more attention however as they´re often dirty, have no toilet paper & never have soap. Our room was like a jail cell, tiny (all 4 bare walls almost touched the bed) with a tiny window. Wifi is decent but doesnt cover whole hostel. Well equipped kitchen available, nice and close to the beach/walk & only a short walk from restaurants/supermarket. Better directions needed on HstlWrld - Approx 13 Soles taxi from cruz del sur terminal.

Dear Alex: Your comment it is not totally true... we have 2 housekeepers working all day , maybe you just enter the bathroom after people left dirty, .The cleanliness is very important for us, and we put toilet paper at least 3 or 4 times a day because some guests took it . We are a backpackers hostel, we give all the guests great hospitality, nice and helpful staff (this is really important when you travel inside a foreign country), but we dont have now services as a hotel, we are improving

Beautifully clean, and only a short walk to the main square. This hostel has a huge range of features including multiple tv/movie rooms, nice areas to sit outside, decent kitchen & wifi throughout the whole hostel. The best feature of this hostel however is the staff.. They ill do everything they can to ensure your stay is enjoyable. They even let us shower and use the facilities for free two days after we had checked-out and come back to collect our packs! Highly recommended hostel!

This large colonial house is where Claus & family live. The majority of the house is a language school, a bar, & then there's one large dorm semi divided in two. Thank you very much for your feedback. We are open since half a year now and we want to improve continuasly. Yes, you are right and therefore we improved the reception. Since a month we work with volunteers who run the reception. They just understand English and the needs of our guests a lot better. In addition I would like to ensure that hostelworld bookings are guaranteed from us. If you book online you have your room!! If a guest has any issue he should tell me and I try to resolve it. Claus

They should really really mention in the description that this place is full of cats. If you love cats then this is your hostel. If you are allergic to cats then welcome to hell on earth as there is no place those cats don't go! Cats aside its an ok hostel with some nice hammocks to lay in the sun. Needs more toilets as only two common toilets to serve whole hostel which are combined with shower so if two people are showering it can mean no toilets for a while. Positives: giant bunk beds

Hi , well, we have only one cat in the hostel, for the rodents, but the other cats coming jumping the wall because the same tourist give them food. We can´t close the roof for the neighbors cats, because then, the sun can´t come in to the garden. Another thing, the hostel have 4 bathrooms with showers, probably you didn´t ask about that. kind regards.

Everything about this hostel is average. Nothing is overly terrible but nothing is overly great. Location is good and a nice view from the balcony but the hostel is noisy due to its location and the creaky wooden floors. Really cool building with lots of cool rooms & spaces & a pool. Location is good. Easy walk to Main Street and 10 mins to old town. Kitchen is fairly spacious. Unfortunately when we were there it was really quiet, even the it was evident that this hostel desperately needs more chairs & comfy places to sit especially considering the wifi only works downstairs. Dorms ok, nice big lockable draws under beds. Long stayers in 12bed dorm means you can feel like you're in their personal bedroom.
