The hotel is in a nice location, in walking distance from most of the sites in Rome. Staff was very nice and helpful.
I stayed at Shakana for a couple of days. It is a nice little hostel with clean rooms. I would recommend it for people who are out in the daytime and stay in at night, since you have to be locked out of the front door, and the staff seems to go to bed fairly early. Also the internet connection was all but none functional in my room.
Very charming place and nice staff. It is not luxury but the location makes it excellent for a visit to Arequipa. It should be said that the front door is closed so you need to ring the doorbell when entering which can give some waiting if you try to get in at night.
