Nice hostel in a very nice neighborhood (trendy bars and restaurants all around). The metro station is just in front of the door. Super fast wifi. The only bad thing which made everything else second-rank was that we had bedbugs in our room. The staff was very exerted to make the best out of the situation and there was also an expert coming to clean the room. But after all we still had the terrible itching and all the annoying cleaning thing of our luggage at home. We wouldn't go back.

Little Retreat

We spent 2 nights in this B&B. It's not an official kind of B&B but more a couple who rent the rooms in their private house. Our room was spacious and very clean. Also the bathrooms were very clean. The only annoying thing was that you can't lock the bathroom door, so that it happened that someone just walked in the bathroom while I was in there (which was very uncomfortable). Very good and fast wifi connection and an excellent breakfast! We can recommend this place, good place for a good price.

We had the double room close to the pool. The room is very noisy, the lockers in the next room are terribly loud and the water-tab from the bathrooms is just next to the room and also very loud. So we could not really sleep. The restaurant in the hostel is not recommendable at all: the service is catastrophic (we had to ask for everything at least twice) and spagetti bolognese with 3 hairs. The staff is nice, english speaking and helpful. The hostel was ok for 2 nights, but we wouldn't go back.

Very nice hotel! The rooms are spacious, nice and clean. There is a beautiful garden with chairs and sunbeds (and a funny turtle walking around :-) ). The breakfast is good. The staff is excellent, english speaking and very helpful. The location is ok, it's a few walking minutes from the main square, but there are closer hostels to the center. We can highly recommend this place and would go bak anytime.

We stayed a total of 7 nights at this hostel in 2 different rooms. Hostel with good value for its price. Very well located close to the center. Raquel, the owner is very kind and helpful. But she only speaks Spanish, so it helps if you know a bit of Spanish. The rooms are ok but the bathrooms could be better (in one room the shower curtain was way too short so that the bathroom was flooded after every shower and the bathroom door squeaked terribly loud). But after all we can recommend this place

Simple but good and clean hostel. The location is excellent, just around the corner from the main street with all the restaurants, agencies, etc. The hostel doesn't have much of atmosphere, but we didn't miss that since we just stayed for 2 nights.

Hostel Copacabana

The hostel is nice, seems to be quite new. Our room was clean and there was a heater in the room. The staff doesn't speak any English. What was really annoying, is that the guy from the hostel told us, that the bus from Villazon to Uyuni would leave at 9 am (Bolivian local time). But then the bus left at 8 am and we had to wait for 7 hours in the ugly town of Villazon until the next bus left. We recommend to travel directly from Salta to Uyuni, there are good connections at the border.

Overall a good hostel with a good value for its money. The staff is helpful and provided us with good information about what to do in and around Tilcara, some of them speak some English. We had a nice room (double) with even a terrace with view over Tilcara. The room was nice and spacious, though it could have been a bit cleaner. There is wifi though it's really slow. But we can recommend this place and would go back there.

After all we stayed for 9 nights in this hostel. It was our base for different trips to the north and south of Salta. It's a good and nice hostel. The staff is helpful and they had all the information we needed. They do not really speak English, so if you know some Spanish that helps. Our room (double) was very clean. There is wifi though it's rather slow. The breakfast is simple but good, especially the coffee is really good! We can recommend this place and would go back anytime.

We always felt like home in this hostel. We can highly recommend this place and would come back anytime.

The hostel is perfectly located close to some restaurants (including 2 churrascarias) and just a few minutes away from the bus terminal, from where you can go everywhere you need. Super fast wifi! On the ground floor there is only one bathroom which is very often occupied. Also it could be a bit cleaner, especially in the evenings. The staff is nice and helpful and mostly there's a person there who speaks good english.

The hostel is perfectly located, just one minute away from the bus terminal and a very short walk away from town center. The breakfast is very good! The staff is very kind and helpful. It's a nice family atmosphere. There's a nice and sunny rooftop terrace. The shower in our room (double ensuite) was really small, otherwise the room was good, though it could have been a bit cleaner (when we opened the mosquito net there was a big cloud of dust falling on our bed). But we can recommend this place

Very cosy hostel. Our room was very spacious (double ensuite). The breakfast is really good. Very friendly german owner. It's all very clean, the staff is cleaning up everything regularly. The only bad things for us was the toilet flush in our room which was very weak (sometimes it was just too weak, and we are not talking about toilet paper ;-) ) and the mattresses should be replaced, they were quite uncomfortable. But otherwise we can recommend this hostel!

Well located hostel. It's within walking distance to Copacabana and Sugar loaf and there are many buses to everywhere. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. The free Lapa tour every week is highly recommendable. It's all very new. Our room was small but nice with a good bed. There was an issue with the wifi, it just worked at the reception though there would be a router for reception in the rooms. And there was no hot water in the ladies shower during the days we were there.

Good hostel with an excellent location near Bellavista. There are nice restaurants, cafes and a nice park just around the corner. We had a double room ensuite. It was ok, the shower was really small, but ok. One really annoying thing (and the reason why we rated "Atmosphere" a little bit lower) is that it is really noisy (and we heard this from guests in other rooms too). You can hear everything (people talking, the door bell, etc.). Especially our room (nr. 6), which was close to a common area.

A very nice hostel with lots of charm, a very nice terrace and an excellent breakfast. We stayed in the twin room with shared bathroom. The room was nice and clean. The drawback of this room is that it is divided to the other room with only a closed door. So you can really hear everything from the other room, we even heard them handling their zip or the rustling of their plastic bag (not to mention all of what they said). In the shower on the upper level there was hardly any warm water.

It's a nice and quite hostel. Our room (Nr. 5) was very spacious and clean. A bit strange was that the switch for the room light is outside of the room. The staff was helpful. The only thing we underestimated is the distance to the city center. You can take the bus or walk. But to walk it takes half an hour from the hostel to the Plaza Independencia. Otherwise we can recommend this hostel.

We stayed at Bamboo for totally 2 nights. The hostel has a good and relaxed atmosphere with a cosy open common area. We had the double room with ensuite with A/C. Don't book the room because of the A/C because it is so deafening loud that you cannot sleep with having it on. We really enjoyed the volleyball and the kava ceremony with the guitar music in the evening.

Very nice and well located hotel. The rooms are very clean. The staff is very helpful (though not all of them speak English). We really liked our stay at Smile Society. Hotel with nice pool and nice and clean rooms. Also the tower you can go up to is really nice and something unique. An annoying thing was the wireless internet which didn't work half of the time and if it worked it was often really slow. And we had bad luck with one of the tuk tuk drivers the hotel organized for us for a daily tour: in the middle of the tour he wanted us to pay more for the trip than what we agreed with the hotel. But hopefully this was just an exception...
