Excellent hostel for the general standard of accommodation in Brazil. Very clean and good common areas. Facilities somewhat lacking (in bathrooms, room size, etc), but that is due to the fact that is occupies a beautiful converted house in a traditional neighborhood that is full of charm anyway.
Very good hostel overall. You can't beat the location. Facilities are somewhat limited (compared to other hostels worldwide), but they make the best of them.
Very good hostel. Friendly atmosphere, walking distance to old and new city. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms need a little work, but they are certainly in a acceptable state. The cafe is excellent and it attracts locals, which is a plus! I would stay again, and again.
One of the best hostels I've stayed at in Europe. From check in to apperitivo to breakfast, everything excellent. The terraces on each level are amazing. Good comfort-cleanliness. Also, the most expensive hostel I've stayed at in Europe. I wish it could appeal more to a traveller's budget.
At least it's cheap. And not too bad in terms of cleanliness and overal organization. But it's far away, especially if you want to spend time on Lido. At best average atmosphere. Music/traffic noise/lights till late, mold odour in rented tent.
A great place to stay in Florence, where the lack of budget options makes it all the more exciting to find a hostel with genuine character. The host is amazingly warm and inviting and it's easy to meet people, go out, explore the city on foot and by bus. If I stayed there again I would ask for a non-ensuite room (for greater privacy). But I would definitely try to stay at Danny house again if I were in Florence.
Certainly the place to stay for the budget traveler in Naples. Great vibe, easy to meet people and no complaints about the room, bed, etc. The common areas are rather small, but full of character. The area is ok, not so far from the attractive parts of a city that is otherwise not the friendliest for the visitor ( be careful for pickpockets at the tram station close to the hostel).
The best place to stay to explore Bari and the wider region. Very new small hostel and the owners' enthusiasm makes it all the more inviting. I'd stay the again.
One of the best hostels I have stayed at. Very friendly staff who really try to make your stay in Seville as good as possible, and overall pleasant atmosphere in common areas. The dorms are clean and comfortable. Dinner on the roof is a great way to meet people. Also, don't miss the walking tour.
Excellent in every way.
It will do for Tangiers. On the plus side the terrace, and the friendly atmosphere. On the minus the slightly uncomfortable open arrangement of rooms and bathrooms (rather too many beds for the space). Oh, and difficult to find unless you pick up a "walking taxi" as you get into the Medina.
It's an ok hotel. Average, clean and well situated in the old centre of Casablanca. Certainly not a hostel, but there re no hostels rally here, so one of the best options if you really want to stay in this city.
Solid good hostel, better than others I stayed at in the area. The facilities are adequate for the number of people staying there, which is not too large. Good kitchen and common room. I missed organized activities and a better breakfast would be good, but the staff are super helpful and the overall experience was pleasant.
Overall nice hostel with a good heart. Unfortunately I cannot give 100% because I would be lying: I have stayed in hostels that are truly worth that rating. One Sants is solidly good through, with nice staff, good atmosphere and a beautiful roof terrace. The facilities and ambience is good enough, but not on a par with other more carefully designed contemporary hostels. Free dinner is a nice touch and offsets the small breakfast fee.
A great place to stay for the solitary traveller and the party animal. There is a good mix of organized activities and personalized recommendations. The beautiful and wonderfully maintained building and the staff provide this little extra magic that makes Porto truly unforgettable.
What makes Travelers House special is the same thing that makes Lisbon one of the most beautiful cities I have been to. They make you feel comfortable and at home from the moment you arrive. I liked the combination of TH and Lisbon (for me they are almost synonymous) so much that I doubled my stay.
A great place to stay and the staff are among the best I have come across in my year of traveling. The hostel is new and everything is clean, and I'm sure will only become better with time. The roof terrace is cool.
I have only good things to say about this hostel. The rooms and common areas are beautiful, the staff very accommodating. Definitely a must, if you enjoy partying and meeting people in the many organized events.
Excellent accommodation with a warm homey feeling. The host, the neighborhood and the facilities at large are all great, but perhaps the best thing about this hostel is that it is in a constate state of becoming, like the city of New York itself. In one word, it's authentic.
Very good hostel for NYC standards. It checks all the boxes, but somewhat perfunctorily. Excellent location for not being in excruciatingly expensive Manhattan, good facilities in the common area. The placement of the bathrooms and showers right next to the beds in the very small en-suite rooms is awkward, as was my interaction with staff.
Big, trendy hostel that checks all of the boxes for what a solo traveler might need. Very clean, good location, opportunities to meet other people in organized activities and in the large, well designed common areas. It might lack some character.
Great hostel. I would not want to stay anywhere else in Tokyo. Beautiful, clean, fun, easy to find. Did I mention beautiful? But why check-in time so late? I know they let you store luggage during the day, but 4pm is late compared to other hostels.
Great hostel. Welcoming atmosphere, comfortable beds, friendly staff, convenient and happening area close to main train and bus terminals. What else can a traveler need? Oh, super clean too. With regards to design, nothing special, but the roof is wonderful.

Excellent hostel in Bangkok. The location is very good, close to the sky train and the real city. Especially good place to stay if you're gay, you can hit the bars in the area. The rooms are standard, but the design of the common areas merits a special mention. Beautiful bathrooms/showers and TV room. The different events the hostel hosts make your stay even more enjoyable.
There are many nice touches in this hostel. Overall experience is pleasant, with the dorm rooms beautifully designed and maintained. The common areas are similarly well laid out to encourage interaction among guests. The staff, though generally nice, are not the most enthusiastic in their job, but the location close to tourist attractions and sleazy nightlife, but far away from public transportation is the greatest disadvantage. Also, the rooms are incredibly cold and the outdoor patio dirty.
Beautiful hostel (beauty is so often overlooked for comfort). But it's also pretty comfortable and very easy to find. There is an issue with their kitchen, but I'm willing to forgive anything with a good excuse and a smile. Definitely one of the better places I stayed in China.
Stylish common area and garden, comfortable, simple rooms. Great place to meet people over (excellent) coffee. Unfortunately, when I visited in March the common area was almost unbearably cold - but so beautiful. The staff were very friendly. I would stay again, but in the summer.
The best hostel I've stayed at in a long time. After traveling in India, it was a welcoming upgrade in cleanliness and genuine character. Great place to meet people and their dinner is very good. I am not sure why it's so cheap, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I shouldn't forget to mention the roof.
Good hostel that has the basics covered. Excellent for US standards. Average for European standards. Poor for Chinese standards. The staff and the trips in the city are great. Great value for money in Portland.
