This place is awesome down to a tee! My girlfriend and I's only complaint was that the double rooms should have their own bathroom as one bathroom per wing of four rooms or so is pretty constricting. But overall a great place to stay and good value for money.

Bendigo Hotel

Melbourne, Australia

The Bendigo is awesome! my band Hidden Intent were on tour and we needed a place that had secure parking which what the Bendigo had to offer. The staff were awesome especially Tiffany who looked after us extremely well! If you want a killer Aussie pub experience then this is the place to be! may i also point out that the beds had the thickest mattresses I've slept on in any hostel, made sleeping a breeze! considering its a music venue its not very noisy at all! definitely will come back! cheers!

Chill Backpackers

Great hostel, really cool facilities and activities, the owner has certainly tried to find ways to cure boredom! the balcony area is killer because you can bring your own drinks in which made it more social. My only criticism is that some of the staff were hit and miss either really nice or just straight out rude and the $10 deposit for a crockery set is a bit steep. One guy in particular was really unfair, I checked out and moments after i had to go to the loo and he wouldn't let me! wtf!

Hey Chris, Thanks for your great review. I apologise for any staff hiccups you may have had. I'll have a look into it. Regarding you not being able to use the bathroom, I don't know what happened there. Anyone who checked out can use the facilities for free until 6pm at night:-) Cheers!

Reggae Mansion Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Awesome hostel! Reggae Mansion was seriously one of the craziest hostels i've ever stayed in! basically its a huge mansion thats been turned into a hostel at rockbottom prices! best idea! The rooftop bar was the highlight for me, wicked view of KL. Only criticism was i had one baby incident with the barman trying to charge me 10 ringgit for a coke? when the alcoholic drinks were the same price.. but meh i got over it. They also have tours which i heard were great

Old Penang GuestHouse

Penang, Malaysia

Great hostel, basically an old building that has had a makeover so you get this heritage kinda feel. Staff were really nice, the beds were very comfortable and clean. Our room didn't have windows but ah well. Bar would be great here as two doors down is Reggae';s which is more bar friendly. Security was strange with a nightwatchman at night opening the caged door. All in all pretty good hostel! staff gave great directions!

Zackry Guest House

Langkawi, Malaysia

Pretty cool guesthouse, had a bar which is where most of the backpackers are, good location right near Patai Chenang which is main street for shopping, eating, partying etc. Make sure if you stay here ask about 'Babylon' which is section of bars near a beach open at night, bloody awesome! I found one staff member to be a bit overly favourbale to the ladies so if your bloke you might need to speak up:) but overall good service

Lodge 121

Kuching, Malaysia
94%

Great hostel, the location is just up the road from the main town of Kuching, there are 'closer' hostels but this one is still pretty damn close. The staff were really friendly and laid back, breakfast was awesome, room were really clean, i liked the idea of the beds being on the floor in the big dorm rather than bunk beds as its more inviting for backpackers to mingle. Staff let me keep my big luggage there while i went to Bako National Park, the movie room was also pretty cool:)

Dillenia Guest House

Great hostel, very laid back home away from home feel, i felt like i was crashing with a local rather than a hostel. Dillenia (the owner) is really helpful not only with Miri related questions but travelling elsewhere as well, very knowledgeable woman, she knows where to get the best deals so ask!

Great hostel, i really liked the look and feel of this place and its SOO CLEAN, the staff here are always cleaning, you could lick the floors of this place! haha. My only criticism was perhaps the staff could have been a bit more bubbly and make a bit more conversattion but they were still nice, very helpful and went out of their way to get me a good deal :) they also let me leave my luggage for when i climbed Mt. Kinabalu:) Cheers Masada Backpackers!

Great hostel! I really like the look and feel of this place, it really made me feel like i was in Asia and not just another hostel. The beds were comfy and the staff were really friendly and helpful (and they always remembered my name). The hostel is situated in a rainforest so you sometimes stumble upon wildlife if your lucky! my only criticism was that i got back too late one night and they had closed the gate and I had no way of contacting anyone (had to hop fence)

Very good hostel, i recommend it to all! good location and there was this guy at the desk (if he's working) called Sebastian such a great bloke! very good sense of directionm and he makes good recommendations. My only little criticism of this place is a lift would be handy as i slpet on the top floor which with a massive back pack is a trek but having said that i could probabaly have used to exercise haha

I only stayed at this hostel for one night but from what i experienced it was pretty awesome. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the beds were actually beds (not bunkbeds) so its a pretty comfy sleep. I thought the hostel was very colorful and inviting as well. enjoy!

Awesome hostel! this place is seriously huge! but they do have a lift which is bloody handy! you do pay a fair bit here a night (as you do in most places in Italy) but i thought it was seriosuly worth it, the bathrooms were awesome, staff were very friendly and funny to! My only complaint was the WIFI they only give you one hour free wifi then you have to pay one euro per hour from there (i personally think all hostels should have free wifi period) but thats just me:)

I thought this hostel was pretty awesome, it was really welcoming and the staff were very helpful and relaxed. I think the only thing that sucks about this place is that its a little far out but then again this place is much cheaper than the hostels in central London, for me it wasn't to bad though because it was near Camden Town:)

Youth Hostel Meetingpoint

I thought this hostel was pretty awesome, when i got to my bed i found two pipes on the floor that someone had left, score! Staff were reasonable, when i first arrived they were a bit shifty but then by night their cool (i think they wanna suss you out and gain your trust which is fair). The breakfast was cheap and filling (2.50 euro). Location is bloody awesome, not to far from central station and the map they give out is very informative.

Hotel am Bahnhof - Sleep&Go

Recklinghausen, Germany

This place is pretty good and cheap for what you pay, probabaly one of the chapest hotels you'll find, its a bit old school to which gives it a cultural feel. No keycards or codes here, old school keys (ones that loom like they open a tresure chest haha). You can pay extra for the breakfast (which is like four euros) and it will fill you up:) my only litte criticism was that the staff kept knocking my door in the morning when i'd been out the night before, not cool but ah well.

This is a great place to stay in Munich, its like one big happy family so everyone is really welcoming. The staff were really chill, in fact i had no cash on me at check so they just told me to pay later. There's a baskteball court, volleyball court and camp fires every night. This place is also insanely cheap which is a plus and i thought the breakfast was reasonable value, highly recommended

Hostel is ok, pretty descent prices. Location is awesome! your really in the heart of the real Berlin (not the modern side of it) and very close the burger joint Burgermeister! Security was a bit dodgey, no keys, keycards or codes for the rooms (which i think is a must).Reception was 24 hour so they monitored who entered building and nothing of mine got stolen (but still). One guy at the reception at night wasn't very friendly but everyone else was pretty cool:)

Leuven City Hostel

Best hostel i stayed in in my whole trip (out of like the 12 hostels i stayed in). They had the thickest matress's that i slept on in my whole trip. The staff were really friendly, it has a very modern feel, the showers were the standout (no push button water saving ones), very clean, the ONLY thing that sucks about this place is the reception times (they close at 8pm so if you are a really late person like me and check in late your kinda screwed so email the hostel if you plan on arriving late
