The Point Mancora Beach

Mancora, Peru

One of my least favourite hostels. No wifi. No pcs. No locks on bedroom doors and tiny lockers so not very secure. The pool felt dirty. The food wasnt good.some showers had no water. Location was right on far end of town away from everything. We moved here from loki as they were full and the point felt like a cheap imitation

Easy to find, just a few blocks from bus stations and the town centre. Clean comfy rooms. Best wifi in sa. Kitchen too, so rare in peru. Nice bar area but very very quiet. Can have food delivered from nxt door rest. Staff are lovely, just bear in mind they are a parent/child team and sometimes the normal tensions shine through, but they are lovely. We loved it here. Grt showers too.

Great beds! So comfortable and two pillows, slept SO well here! The hostel looks great, vry inviting. Good wifi and pcs . Nice bar, but maybe a little quiet, if the staff werent drinking here itd be pretty dead! Nice atmosphere. Roof top bar. My only issue was the staff on reception..... RUDE. Things like sighing and raising eyes to heaven when you looked for information, making it impossible to book extra nights, not knowing where famous landmarks are, just not interested or helpful, a shame!

Good: The food was great and huge portions. The staff were nice and friendly. The dorm was bright and big. The location was perfect. Wifi was good. very cheap. nice atmosphere, grt people staying there. Bad: The showers were in the same bathroom used by the public using the restaurant. First time in 6 mths travelling we came across a cockroach in a hostel, huge ones, the dorm had no air flow and so was hotter than outdoors, breakfast not included

Good: Very informative staff, welcoming also. Breakfast included pancakes and juice as well as the normal bread and coffee. Very close to the main square. good pcs. free tea etc 24hrs. Bad: staff a little pushy selling tours that are more exp than down town, upstairs bathroom has extremely strong smell of gas when showering, a little cold, I would also ask for a receipt when you pay as we were followed to the bus station and told we had forgotten to pay but we had paid already

The dorm was spotless, with clean comfy beds and plenty of space, a few hooks to hang towels would be grt though and maybe some thicker curtains as was very bright but all in all a great room The showers were good too ,, but a shower curtain would be useful to stop whole room becoming soaked......also toilet paper, soap and hand towels not provided. The kitchen was perfect, everything you needed including mineral water! Huge tv, loads dvds Good wifi, and pc, a 2nd would be grt Grt owner

The staff were abrupt and rude at times. The rooms were drab and dirty. The bathrooms were not clean and in bad condition. They charged you to watch dvds in the reception area!!! the pcs were not free, the wifi was awful....you had to que for breakfast in a slow cold line. seating to eat was in an outdoor courtyard and so cold.

This is a hostel not using its full potential. The location is good. The entrance and grounds are nice. The owner is nice. The dorm was a little shabby and dark but was perfectly functionable. Breakfast was so disorganised, in different place each morn and not always enough supplies, bread was rock hard. There was a kitchen but on our 2nd night the owner had it locked for no apparent reason. There was a guest smoking in our dorm and the owner wasnt that interested. No lockers

The hostel looks sleek and ultra modern in the pictures- its a let down, its badly maintained, untidy, rundown and oacks atmosphere! The dorms lock automatically when door closes and there is only one key per room, therefore to get in you have to go searching for key!!! The lockers are a good attempt but doors are not flush with the side of press Breakfast is stale bread!!!!! Wifi only works in common area. Two of the three pcs don't work Bathroom doors have no locks

Really nice chilled out atmosphere. 6bed dorm was a little crowed. Good sized lockers. Good wifi. Very helpful and friendly staff. Grt bbq! A little far outa town. Didn't like the way the bathrooms were organised, the door was onto main corridor and if someone came in while you were getting dressed after a shower you had no privacy. Overall I would reccomend.

We arrived early, happens with overnight buses, we were welcomed with attitude! Not a good start. The staff member then changed his mind and said we could check in, after about 30mins sitting there (it was 7am wed no where else to go ) the dorm was dark, dreary and smelled damp. The beds were in desperate need of new blankets. There was alot of local workers staying here and they really took over and made the place feel very un backpacker hostel like. Staff werent grt. Location was good though

Ok we choose this hostel based on ratings..I don't see it! The staff were ok, one guy vry helpful, one not so interested. The pool was filthy, no way we were getting in. Our dorm was shabby and right next to the breakfast area so you couldn't sleep in the mornings. The breakfast was sliced bread and tea. The kitchen is outdoors and therefore loads of bugs about while cooking but was well stocked. The location was a good distance from bars etc and the bus station.

Curitiba Backpackers Hostel

We needed to change our booking, and there was no issue at all, the manager happily postponed our arrival date. The staff were grt, vry helpful. The hostel was undergoing work while we where there, I think it was newly opened.,, you could see the fantastic potential the place had. Good wifi. Breakfast a bit lacking for brasil standards. Some staff had no english which made ordering a taxi hard.
