Door handle had broken on the inside, clearly a problem for a while but they wouldn't fix it. Very little atmosphere in the lounge/ kitchen, disappointing really. But a perfectly good hostel and very near to Connolly station/ tram and walking distance to Temple Bar in the evening
Maybe not the best equipped hostel but the best atmosphere I've ever experienced in a hostel. Had an awesome time
Very decent hostel, discounted tour is well worth it, bargain especially considering breakfast is included. Common areas shut at 10pm though which lead to a group sitting on the stairs one night drinking and being generally loud until 1am- the only downside
Fantastic place, could go on a holiday there even without the attraction of nearby Venice. Tents get as hot as you'd expect in summer, but mosquitoes were less of a problem than I thought. Very useful shuttle into town but we ended up using the local buses seeing as we'd spent a small fortune on the ticket (and they run more often and all day)
either the hostel was quite empty or no one knew about the lounge downstairs, I thought it was very nice but never saw another soul down there (one woman used the kitchen but otherwise...). Lovely lovely staff, very helpful
Arrived in the morning before check-in to leave my bag, and was asked to pay too. Upon returning to the hostel, I was informed that they were full and that I'd have to move to a different hotel (at a higher cost). The woman had completely forgotten that I'd paid that morning, but fortunately had written it down so I did get my money back. Practice your French! The two ladies babble away as if you speak the language fluently and it was rather hard to get my point across with my limited French!
Lovely owner, Massimo. Offered to pick me up from the train station, recommended some places to go, then drove me to a bar that night too. Very nice room and B&B in general
When they say check in finishes at 8, they mean it, I arrived at 8.02 and fortunately the guy saw me ringing the bell as he walked away and came back. The day I left I was greeted by a note saying that the hostel was shut that day so there was no possibility of leaving your bag for the day- my back's still paying the consequences now. A fair walk from the station too. Electricity cut out for some reason one morning though and that was fixed without fuss (by the time I came back that evening).
Internet was a bit rubbish, otherwise no problems whatsoever
Staff were very kind, especially after I'd been ill in the night. Kitchen looked well equipped, easy walk from the station. Would definitely return!
Don't get confused when you reach numbers 207/209 on the same road, you've still got a fair way to go from the station! Owner was lovely, changed my arrival time last minute to after the 2pm slot (bit strange that) but they made sure someone was there :)
Very lively place, found it a bit tricky working out how to get in though (was a bit tired though! Go in through the bar)
Got a couple of bites but 99% sure they were mosquitoes rather than anything in the bed. Comfortable bed, fantastic facilities (even if the end of the pool cue was missing its tip!), well well worth it
could do with another bathroom, was very often a queue in the morning/ evening but otherwise certainly no complaints
The only real let down was the kitchen facilities- it is just a microwave, toaster (and fridge). They don't even leave cutlery out after breakfast. But otherwise a very nice hostel in a decent location and a good base to explore the city, and Emilia-Romagna. Would highly recommend
The most pricey dorm room I've had, but was in the end upgraded to a single room to myself. Pointed out that the toilet was blocked when I arrived but it hadn't been fixed by the time I left 2 days later, which smelt a bit. Otherwise a very nice and clean hostel, felt very homely at times
Never seen a better equipped hostel, free towels, sheets, enough shampoo etc for an army on a 6 month tour, kitchen was good, wifi was good, decent location near the station and the sea. Only downside was that it was by a busy road and the train line, so was quite noisy at times, although the trains don't run at night (midnight to 6am). Paid for a 10 bed room and was given a 2 bed though!
Have stayed here a couple of times before, and have come to expect the staff not to be there! Make sure you have their mobile number. Otherwise it is fine, and perfectly good value for not so much money
The owners were lovely, fantastic location (5 minutes from the main station, 2 minutes from the circumvesuviana and right by the main square). Fantastic value for money and my pancakes for breakfast were very nice!
